Team Canada Sticks

Recommended Posts

Had a shift today (sportchek), and we received a box of team canada Vapor's.

Wicked looking stick for 100 bucks.

Pretty much just a dressed up Vapor V, white to red with the hockey canada logo where the colour changes.

Reg 87 flex, St Louis, 550 grams.

Junior 52 flex, St Louis, 425 grams.

I'm hoping we recieve some lefty seniors so i can pick one up!

Also wondering is any other sportchek employees have seen these, and what curves have you received?

I'd say they are lower grade than the Vapor V. The ones we have at our store have a crappy looking weave on the blade. Looks mostly fibreglass.

the hockey shop has xxx lites in team canada colours. they are labeled as prostock and are non grip. pretty cool imo.

How much were they ? Did they just get them ?

same as the retail vapor xxx lite...289 cad i think, though i don't think they'll be posting those on the site...of course, you could always ask jbyun...

Come on lego, don't you remember when Easton charged 25 dollars more for orange paint over silver??? ;)

I remember. Worse stick, worse color, more money. If I had to choose between the regular lite and the canada one, I'd probably choose the canada. But there's no way I'm paying more money for the same stick, just with a different paint job.

Ya i saw them at sportcheck about a week ago. Some older looking guy was looking at one ---- probably to buy it for his kid. When he asked the sales agent what they were - he said there the EXACT SAME sticks that Team Canada uses, and the reason why there so heavy is because Team Canada needs them to be more durable so they wont break on the players while they are playing in a game.

Nice sales pitch - to bad its just not true.

Hahahaha what do you expect at sportchek?

So many ppl i work with will straight up lie to a customer to make a sale, and then when i tell the customer the truth about how shitty half our products are, i get in trouble cause my sales are down!

Not to mention management is an idiot - The ccm V120's on sale for 119.99, not one manager knew that we had them in stock, so they sat in the back during the first week of being on sale. If i hadn't found these canada vapors the same thing would've happened.

A joke of a workplace lol.

But it's not the same stick just with a different paint job - it's the same stick with a different paint job and no warranty!

the xxx lite team canada and regular xxx lite is the same price in store and online.

Well then, that store is jacking up the price of the stick. Epuck has them for $190.

what is the weight difference betweent he xxx's and the xxx lites?

The difference is 10 grams. My Vapor XXX Lite weighs 420 grams. Also, I think the blade on the Lite is a little bit different than the blade on the regular XXX. Bauer's website says the blade is made with N-Touch 2 technology, so I guess that means they made some changes.

They're killing me with no Pronger/Samsonov pattern in 2006. I saw the Easton product line Tuesday and its back to Lidstrom for me. I don't have a choice. It is theo only long square toe blade in the marketplace. I may have to use the new Stealth Grip Lids. It looked pretty sweet. I will also have to see what Warrior is doing at the OneGoal Show. It will be interesting to see who they choose in my territory to open an account with.

10 grams! What's that one wrap extra wrap of tape. No performance improvement whatsoever. I challenge the marketing guys to show me independent lab analysis results! What a bunch of crap if I ever saw one.
