what skates is this guy wearing?

Recommended Posts

Available in the spring to RBK Platinum Dealers only. RBK has a nice little 24 pr minimum for top end skates, of which 8-10 pr Vector 10 Sr is minimum, booking program. Jimmy will probably have it.

Wow, as cool as it is to have new stuff popping up all the time, I think that hackey gear is being recreated to quickly, I really wish they kept the same line longuer like they did before...

This being said, I'm not goint to jump on the banwagon of new Pumps or One90's etc...

I'm a keep my S500's and pick me up a pair of vectors on sale somewhere or something...

I like having new stuff coming out all the time. more old models to pick up for cheap once the new stuff comes in.

You guys are right on: the skate is nothing to brag about even when you are holding it in your hand. The crazy diamond pattern adds next to nothing in terms of adding a good look to the skate. You have to be hardcore Vector guy to buy these. And how many of them are there? The word I heard was the 03-04 Vector Pro was saturated in NHL by CCM throwing a rather nice perk at any player who would wear them. The NHLers in Vector Pros "cashed in!"

The Vectors fit a lot of folks perfect, and that's what they like. A bit flashy for me but many like the flash. IMO, the new vector with the blue trim looks aweful but may be a very comfortable skate. The vectors are well made, the holder and steel blow away much of the competitions products. I rarely and I mean rarely ever have to fix a eholder or replace the proformance steel for a defect or breakage. Sucks for me cause I don't rack in the money for repairs like I do for Bauers and Grafs.

I'm rethinking whether to book too many of the new skates. I hear rumors in late 2006/2007 that there may be a Addias label "NHL" brand of equipment. Don't want to get stuck with too much discontinued stuff. I may just go back to just skate sharpening and tape sales. This new model every year makes it hard to make any money on equipment.

Jimmy,

I really want the 8k helmet again in my shop. It finally sold after all the NHL exposure. But to jump through all the hoops(Platinum Program minimums in so many different categories) in terms of booking $ for that one item is also making me re-think what I book with RBK. If Corry or any RBK guys are lurking, now you have been forewarned if your booking $ are up or down based on your projections.

I pretty much sold out of the 8k when I got my booking. The min was 18, no prob selling those. If fact if they could have got fills to me faster I could have sold a lot more. I never got my golds, greens, or smalls. They were soooooo slooooow this past year. I lost virtutually all my Platinum booking discounts, because the thousand back orders were shipped 1 item, 1 box at a time. Extra shipping charges sucked up early booking profits. No benefit to booking platinum, I'm really reconsidering for 06.

Jimmy

Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear we think alike. Sometimes I think I'm nuts with booking $$$ for 12 items + to get one I really need. Now I know I'm not crazy!! 2 weeks to Onegoal. It should be interesting to see everybody under one roof again.

Everybody isn't going to be at the one goal show. It's more fractured than every before and a total mess.

Who are you saying won't be there? The Big 3 will be there, right? After that, if I am any other vendor, I would make it my business to be there. Just my 2 cents.........

the big three/four are the only ones being represented in the IHIA, there is a ton of dissention.

What, specifically, is the "dissension?" I am just interested in knowing, if possible.

I just checked Onegoal web site with floor plan. Warrior is right next to NBH! HMMM, Stick envy!

I've spoken with a lot of people that feel the IHIA is acting only in the interests of the largest couple of manufacturers.
