That's a glitch I sometimes get on mine. It'll say it's okay to disconnect, then when I eject it I get a "files are in use" error. I just go ahead and eject it out of "My Computer" if you're on a PC. I find it happens when I don't have "Mack's iPod" highlighted before I eject it.

I'm pretty sure the iPod is the worst invention ever just cause of the numerous problems people keep discovering.

For Example, my newest - Whenever I try to hook up the ipod to the pc to update it with new songs it doesnt work completely. The itunes program says "ipod is up to date and can be disconnected" but the ipod says" do not disconnect". I know its not busy charging cause it charged for the last two days. I know its not a problem with the song file because I even tried to delete a playlist and it was still on the ipod.

How long do I have to wait for it to completly be up to date, even though itunes says it is?

crap like that used to happen to me when i had a ton of spyware and things. clean up your PC and it might get better.

Hey I bought an iTrip and it only gives you so many radio channels. Mine is 87.0-107.9 Well all of those are taken up by some sort of station. I cant get anything close to a clear sound of my ipod.

Is there anyway to request more stations? Or is there another FM Transmitter thats better then the iTrip?

Are you close to the city at all? When I'm in "the sticks" here in Massachusetts... an iTrip does fine on some of the lower stations (in the 90's-91's) but the closer I get to Boston, and the surrounding suburbs..... no dice. Location is key..

a lot of car decks have auxilary inputs in the front, and in the back (the manuf. can be sneaky and put it in the back, for a cd changer, etc)... I even picked up a cheap Sony deck at a local WalMart with a aux. input right in the front for about $100. a direct line-in is your best bet if you want a nice clear sound.

Guess I'm lucky then, because I got mine replaced because they said it cracked because of pressure and not because I dropped it so I got a new one under warranty, bought a Marware Sidewinder case for it, best case IMO for durability. If not for that I think you can buy replacement screens on ebay for cheap that are self installable.

I'm quickly not a fan of the 'new' cases as I've found them to condensate like mad outside. That doesn't bode well running where I run, so hopefully between Apple and Best Buy it's covered under something if it screws up.

MPG files are “muxed†which means the video and audio tracks are merged

You can use a program like Streamclip (abalible at the site below).

Open up the file in Streamclip, click file>Export to Quicktime

Select the MPEG4 encoder and hit enter. Select the file destination and you’ll have the same file but in MOV format. You can now use iTunes to convert this MOV file into an iPod compatible version.

I have a HUGE issue. Some of the songs wouldnt transfer right so someone said to select all, and uncheck "album artist." well i did, and now like 85% of my artist names are blank.

I figure my best bet is to delete all of my songs off iTunes, and take the songs off my iPod, and transfer them into iTunes. How do i do that?

Its easier than that. All you have to do is mirror the playlist.

i have my ipod set to automatically update songs when i plug it in, but after it updates, some of the songs that i have on itunes do not transfer to the ipod. for example, notorious BIG, i have 6 songs by him on i tunes, yet when i go to artist and scroll down to notorious BIG, only one song shows, this occurs with several artists on my ipod. I have tried manually updating these "missing" songs and they still do not show up on the ipod, it's not that the names I entered for the artist don't match up because they do, i checked many times. And i also find it odd that the number of songs on the ipod when i go to "settings" matches the number of songs in my library on itunes, and these "missing" songs are in the playlists on the ipod if i put them in one. can somebody help me? (it is a 30gb ipod video if that helps)

the id3 tag may be screwed up. Make sure you have Notorious BIG for the ID3. Right click, go to get info, then click the info tab.

I have also found that you have to fill in "album artist" which is usually left blank. If you have some songs with, and some without, only the ones WITH it will show up.

go to library, select all, edit, make album artist blank

there you go

no albums but at least you can see all the songs

Every time i go to add something to my 30gb video ipod, the computer will temporarily freeze for 2-4 minutes. After that, the songs will be on the ipod, but then a bubble pops up saying "mike's ipod could not be synced...". Is there any way to stop this from happening?

When I go to use the ipodrip, to transfer songs from my buddies computer to mine, instead of loading on the ipodrip, it loads on itunes first and updates it and deletes the songs on the ipod. How do I fix this.
