What exactly is Warrior Hockey?

Recommended Posts

All of a sudden I saw all this Warrior gear come out of nowhere. Like the sticks look really sweet and have a younger look to them. They seem like how Axe/Tag is to deodorant they are that way in terms of how they market themselves in hockey sticks. Are they like a old company that changed names and everything? So basically could someone fill me in on their history?

They bought Innovative Hockey and had three product managers from Easton jump ship. They're down to two as one of them might be serving time for his involvement.

Warrior is a lacrosse company that bought Innovative. Warrior is owned by New Balance. Innovative has been around for a while. They made the True 1, 1100, and made composite sticks for other hockey companies.

Alright thanks. Yeah I did see the NB sneakers in the catalogue. Have they been getting respect and recognition in the buisness. I know Inno sticks where supposed to be pretty good.

warrior is now avaliable at a shop that did not carry INNO here locally

Come on JR, you keep doing this to us! Giving us these teasers and not explaining. What's the deal with the third easton guy?

There were links to the stories back when everything first came down.

Yes. Warroir has restrictive distribution, meaning not every store will be allowed to sell their products. All this means is high prices and lack of competition.

I didn't know the other mfgs out there allowed every shop to sell their items?

The question was, will warrior be hard to find. The answer is yes. They chose only to distribute through exhisting warrior lacrosse dealers (and selected others).

IMO restricting distribution is not good because it artificially keeps prices high.

in case any one is wondering, we met with the warrior rep tonight, and he said that the gloves kovalev is wearing are infact warrior gloves. he says they are hoping to have the glove at the Lets Play Hockey expo, here in MN for the High School hockey tournament. (basically the hockey show, but open to the public)

I just called the New Balance office in Canada and they said they'll be distributing the products in a couple of weeks in Toronto and National Sports Center will be carrying them.

nothing is hard to find nowadays...Warrior is all over the place..why not use existing relationships and select new dealers..

Mission in their beginnings always kept demand high..if they thought they could sell 20k pair of skates..they made 15k...always had people wanting product...

Inno has always been like that anyway..not everywhere..but in a lot of the right spots..people who understand
