mack 44 Report post Posted May 30, 2004 The Gretzky move that I remember is him coming down, faking like he was going out of the zone and doing a button hook and staying in.
thunderhockey19 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2004 what i remember one of my friends saying Gretzskys move was is hed throw it into his feet and kick it back up to his stick it was all in one motion cant remember exactly what it looks like.
Gongshow11 1 Report post Posted May 30, 2004 i think it's when he cuts across the center, fakes a slap shot and shoots five hole when the goalie opens up
mack 44 Report post Posted May 30, 2004 The bastard had tons of moves, that review's not specific enough.
Lester8 11 Report post Posted May 30, 2004 I think it's how to cut the opposing captain's lip, avoid a penalty and score the conference series winner. Just kidding, still bitter.According to the Smart Hockey DVD, the move is to go straight in on goal, drop the puck to your backhand foot, kick it behind your other foot up to your forehand, fake a shot, and pull it across to the backhand side and tuck it in. Whip 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2004 what i remember one of my friends saying Gretzskys move was is hed throw it into his feet and kick it back up to his stick it was all in one motion cant remember exactly what it looks like. I thought that was Paval Bure's move. Gretsky (sp) was a pretty sneaky player wished I seen him play more often but he is one of the older players I respect, left the game b4 his skill died out unlike messier. Dan_The_Man_16 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2004 I think what they are talking about is then Gretz used to go behind the back of the net, and when he'd reverse he'd bounce the puck off of the back of the net to himself, sorta like what Lecalvier did last game, and Cherry was talking about on Coaches Corner. 43%burnt 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2004 the "move" i was most familiar with was when he would be flying down the wing with the puck. just after he crossed into the zone he would stop and do a 360 and set someone up who was just entering the zone.

Yup. Of all his moves that was his most spoken of. That guy in the zone was usually Paul Coffey.

Hahaha if someone tried that I would lay his @ss out b4 he could finish the spin but seriously that would have been crazy to see, noone now a days does spins anymore. Does anyone know what age Grets retired at? Just curious
Chadd 916 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 I seriously doubt you ability to hit someone pulling off that move properly.Gretz was right around 40.
Vapor 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 There are two "Gretzky" moves, that are most well known... both have been talked about... One is the cut back, where hed do a 360 to illude a player and The one where her flys down the off wing, and at the hash marks fakes a shot, then puts one threw the five hole. (that is the one in the video).
MDE3 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 I seriously doubt you ability to hit someone pulling off that move properly.Gretz was right around 40. Gretzky born Jan /61, retired at the end of the 98/99 season..was 38 at the time. Most copied move: Tucking in one side of his jersey.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 The move 360 is more like a curl rather than a spin. It's almost impossible to hit him there unless you've got him cornered and even then it's difficult. As a D your pulling yourself out of position to make the hit, as a forward your more than likely leaving your D open. The purpose was to sucker people in who wanted to kill him so they were leaving a man open. Whip, you just fell right into his trap.
Veltri 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2004 yeah when I read 'the gretzky move' the coming across the blue line, spin back up and feed the guy coming in is what comes to mind, its refered to as the gretzky move

lee92 2 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 wasn't gretzky's move when he'd go streaking down the ice along the boards and then put on the brakes all of a sudden and set some one up coming in late?orr's move was the spin-o-rama, i know that for sure. anyone can figure that out by listening to don cherry talk about him and when other ppl do the spin-o-rama hahaha
