Nice Skates.

case in point, why you send your valuable product to someone who KNOWS how to install the product

Pure Hockey sucks and messed my skates up, then refused to fix them

Shops and players all over the world know how to mount them successfully... by following the instructions. Mounting instruction number 7 is: Make sure the shop follows the instructions. When you take them in to get mounted, show them the instructions and find out up-front if they are going to follow them. If they say they don't need no stinkin directions, save your money.

Sprungster, do you measure teh actual outsole itself? or from the front of the toe box to the heel?

I sort of average it out, by using the toe cap and the last flat on the heel unless the heel wraps like Bauers, which needs some end finding in the curve. You can't go by the outsoles only because they get mounted forward or backward all the time. I have a soft plastic ruler that follows the boot contour for better measuring.

If you find a measurement on your length line (left-right, from the ice blade, not holder, center of the toe cap to the same at the heel) that you can average fit to both boots, that will help indicate the best half way mark for the length. From the center mark measure 1/4" toward the heel for the horizontal line to match the horizontal line through the X member on the bottom of the frame. The perspective caused by the curve of the boot makes lining the frame up a little tough, but if you are looking straight down on the frame line and it lines up with the line on the boot, you are most of the way there. Drilling the holes so it ends up there is another thing.

basicallly i've been eye-balling all my mounts once the sole has been marked... same amount of wheel stick out the front and back, but it looks liek the mounts you've done on the RBK is mounted more to the rear.

Here's a mount I did... just wished the skates would fit me. Just like all skates I've had, not enough depth. I'm going to look at some grafs next.

are there any pics of easton 1500's anywhere? i went way back in the thread and couldn't find anything. i actually thought about mounting my old hum'er chassis on them, but i think i'm finally sold on the sprungs, i just wanted to get an idea of what they looked like and find out if there were any possible mounting issues.

fatwabbit,

Those look really nice. After switching chassis between Tacks, Eastons and Vectors multiple times I have stayed with the Vectors for a while now and they are working out pretty well. The only thing I have found is I like 76mm wheels on my A-8's better than 80mm wheels. I just like the feeling of being closer to the surface. I probably lose a little speed but it just feels more comfortable.

These are the remounted One95s, and you can see the line I marked, .25" to the rear of halfway, lined up with the line in the X-member of the frame.

These are size 10 1500s with A7s. The boot sole kiss to the frame was perfect except for right behind the rear wrap-under, but the rear of the frames pulled up tight.

Can't say enough about the guys at Sprung. I had some local issues with my mount, they mounted too far forward then refused to reset them because they felt riveting at an angle was too "dangerous", personally that means "we already got your 30 bucks so scram". I emailed Joe Norris and the customer service is just what a small business represents, people who stand behind their product 110%.

Skates arrived yesterday and they are absolutely perfect! Thanks guys.

While rotating my wheels tonight, I'm unable to remove the front wheel from my left or right boot. I've been on these wheels/frames/axles 15 hours, and the wheels/axles have been removed without a problem three times. The axle has two pieces - the long piece (axle) and the small piece (nut?). When I attempt to unscrew the axle of either front wheel, I'm able to remove the (nut), but not the (axle). No matter what I do, I can't get the (axle), the long piece, out. My front wheels are stuck in my frames.

What can I do to get my front wheels off? Pictures of my parts are below - I'm certain I'm using correct wheels and bearings, and my spaceers are standard aluminum floating spacers. Second picture is the (nut) side, with the nut removed and the threaded end of the (axle) showing. Third picture is the (axle) stuck in place.

if you can get the nut off, then you shouldnt have any problems getting the axle off. Maybe rotate the axle while pushing from the other side woul dhelp... sometimes it gets a little stuck due to the amount of dust that gets trapped in the small crevices...

I agree - if the (nut) comes off, the (axle) should come off. I've tried punching it out using force, unscrewing it while pushing it out, it will not move. It's only a problem with my front wheels on each boot, the other six wheels come off no issues.

The axle shoulder has flared at the end and won't fit through the spacer or grit has gotten between the spacer and/or bearings and axle and frozen them together. This is a reg problem, thin or thick axles, aluminum or steel.

If you are punching it out, put some oil down the axle so it can possibly help things break loose. You have to have an opening (a spare wheel) directly under the other end of the axle so it can move out without hitting anything if and when it comes loose. It also helps to find something that isn't pointed for the punch. I've gotten skates to remount with all the wheels removed from the old frames except for the frozen ones.

Hey just purchased a pair of one95s and was wondering if anyone had converted a pair and put black sprung a7 chassis on??????????????? I have seen them in white on here just wondering what they would look like in black before i make the decision. I Have'nt seen a single player using them in the uk yet just when i have played abroad, reading the reviews on here made my mind up for me cause always used 80-72 hilo. So anyone ?????????????????

Well, I managed to get my axles out using a punch and a hammer. No noticeable dirt inside, but I understand dirt that is too small to see can make a difference. I'm a bit concerned about the long-term effect of hammering my axles, so I'll be ordering spare parts. Thanks for the help.
