x-box 360

Recommended Posts

I searched and didn't find anything. so here it goes. i'm thinking of buying an x-box 360. Are there any differences between the core system and the premieum system, other than the extra 20gig hard drive. And is it worth spending a 100$ more to get the 20gig hard drive? All you x-box 360 people, i kneed your help. All other x-box 360 info and advice is also very appreciated since i'm quite cluless on the subject.

Thank you Michael9.

i think its worth the extra 100 since if you get the premium its like just paying for the hard drive but you get more as opposed to just buying the core and then getting the hard drive seperate

its worth it go with the premium

The hard drive is $100 anyway, plus I consider it a necessity. Weird thing is (and maybe someone here can help clear it up) is that when we first got it, it showed that we had 12 gigs free out of 20 but no games saved.

I also think you get a wireless controller rather than a corded controller, but I may be wrong in that one. You can also check your local game store to see if they offer bundles.

Premium system comes with 20 gig drive, cordless controller, headset and component HD AV cable. Core system has just a corded controller and a composite AV cable.

The hard drive alone makes the premium system worth the $.

That's right... you can't save games on a core system without the hard drive or a memory card.

They have a bunch of s--t preloaded on the drive like music, videos and I forget what else. I left that stuff on there, but I'm thinking I'm going to delete it.

With the hard drive, you can also play old xbox games, I believe. I got mine a few weeks ago, just haven't really had time to mess around with it.

so, you guys have pretty much convinced me for the premium version, Just a few more questions thought.

1- will old x-box controllers work with the 360(like ps1 and ps2 did)?

2- will all my games for my old x-box work on the 360?

3- are there any accesories i should buy with it?

4- can someone please explain about x-box live?

5- what are somes good games?

6- can you put more than 2 controllers on a 360? cause in all the pictures it only looks like two holes

anyone who has anything to say about the x-box 360, likes reviews and information, is also very appreciated. Thank you, Michael9

A 20gb harddrive will get you around 3-5 full games saved.

1) nope :)

2) most will but games like 2k6 that got redone for 360 wont let you play the old xbox games

3) xbox live! I'd get an extra controller

4) download free demos, buy games, play online... good stuff

5) battlefield 2, saints row is pretty fun but you can probably get by on the demo

6) 4 controllers in total, wireless is good

after playing demos for this years hockey games I need to buy a 360! and a hdtv!

or I can save money and go over to my friends place and use his 360 and his 60" hdtv!

So if i undertand corectly, so you can lets say you rent a game and then save it to your hard drive? thats sounds sweet.

no, he's just saying thats how much space there is on the harddrive

I'd say it's freakin worth it, although I didn't pay full price (Since i bought it off a local guy who said it was too expensive of a toy to take care of) I got the Premium, 4 games and an extra wireless for $500CDN.

Apparently, if you get the Core and the Harddrive separate the Core system has troubles recognizing the harddrive so your better off getting the Premium anyway. Besides, you wouldn't be able to enjoy the NHL 07 demo like me and the others without a harddrive anyway :D

it's definitely worth it. Memory cards cost around $40 anyway, and the wireless controller is great. Pays for itself right there with those two things. As for good games, Oblivion is great if you like those kind of games, Dead Rising is a pretty good play, NHL 07 looks great, you can't go wrong with Madden, and you know Halo 3 will be unreal.

seeing everyone obsess about this made me want to get one, so i just went out and bought one. i got the premium one with all the cool accesories, and i got NHL 2k7. it was a tough decision between the 2 but i was talking to the guys at the store and tehy said they liked 2k7 more. i played it a little bit and it is pretty fun, and i didnt see hardly any glitches like past games.

That answered lots of my questions. Makes me want one now... sounds like a good gift to ask my wife for Christmas lol

By the way, the cordless controllers, are they battery operated as in AA batteries or is it a rechargeable battery pack of some sort? I know they actually have a battery operated 360 with a rechargeable battery, probably similar to a laptop but am interested to know if it's the same for the controllers.
