Michael9 57 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 I searched and didn't find anything. so here it goes. i'm thinking of buying an x-box 360. Are there any differences between the core system and the premieum system, other than the extra 20gig hard drive. And is it worth spending a 100$ more to get the 20gig hard drive? All you x-box 360 people, i kneed your help. All other x-box 360 info and advice is also very appreciated since i'm quite cluless on the subject.Thank you Michael9. devilsrule711 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 i think its worth the extra 100 since if you get the premium its like just paying for the hard drive but you get more as opposed to just buying the core and then getting the hard drive seperateits worth it go with the premium
mack 44 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 The hard drive is $100 anyway, plus I consider it a necessity. Weird thing is (and maybe someone here can help clear it up) is that when we first got it, it showed that we had 12 gigs free out of 20 but no games saved.I also think you get a wireless controller rather than a corded controller, but I may be wrong in that one. You can also check your local game store to see if they offer bundles.
pantherfan 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 I'd say it is worth it to get the hardrive as otherwise you can't save games I don't think.
Michael9 57 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 so if i dont get the premium/hard drive i can't save games unless i have a memory card?
SMP 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 Premium system comes with 20 gig drive, cordless controller, headset and component HD AV cable. Core system has just a corded controller and a composite AV cable. The hard drive alone makes the premium system worth the $. That's right... you can't save games on a core system without the hard drive or a memory card.

I left that stuff on there, but I'm thinking I'm going to delete it.

jbyun04 7 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 So if i undertand corectly, so you can lets say you rent a game and then save it to your hard drive? thats sounds sweet. no, he's just saying thats how much space there is on the harddriveI'd say it's freakin worth it, although I didn't pay full price (Since i bought it off a local guy who said it was too expensive of a toy to take care of) I got the Premium, 4 games and an extra wireless for $500CDN. Apparently, if you get the Core and the Harddrive separate the Core system has troubles recognizing the harddrive so your better off getting the Premium anyway. Besides, you wouldn't be able to enjoy the NHL 07 demo like me and the others without a harddrive anyway :D
Langenbrunner15 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 I love Fifa 06' m Ea Sports, I love that game, I HATE soccer too so that's shows something.
Jordan6969 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2006 The reason it says 12 gigs is because 8 gigs are reserved for actual saving in games... at least i think that is why.
tyler9 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2006 I'd reccomend fight night round 3 and call of duty 2 those were my favourite games so far.
BK 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2006 GRAW is amazing too.NHL 07 will be good.. I wish I could afford one. I guess my cpu will do for now :)
willc7786 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2006 it's definitely worth it. Memory cards cost around $40 anyway, and the wireless controller is great. Pays for itself right there with those two things. As for good games, Oblivion is great if you like those kind of games, Dead Rising is a pretty good play, NHL 07 looks great, you can't go wrong with Madden, and you know Halo 3 will be unreal. hamstercaster 2 Report post Posted September 14, 2006 That answered lots of my questions. Makes me want one now... sounds like a good gift to ask my wife for Christmas lolBy the way, the cordless controllers, are they battery operated as in AA batteries or is it a rechargeable battery pack of some sort? I know they actually have a battery operated 360 with a rechargeable battery, probably similar to a laptop but am interested to know if it's the same for the controllers. willc7786 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2006 The wireless controllers are battery operated, with a life spin of around 25hrs for 2 batteries.
