$449 One90 gloves!

Recommended Posts

I went into the LHS and found that they had just got the One90s in. And since I am looking for a new glove I figured why not try these. I asked the guy the price and he said they where $449! $449 dollars for a pair of gloves....I paid this much for my first pair of hockey skates. This is crazy, it is unbelievable, Australian hockey prices have gone MAD!!! I will have to start to resort to either buying from this special shop in Perth or buy from the US, this is absolutely crazy. I have now finished my rant.

It's only fair because the vegemite prices here are insane.

Just add salt to axel grease, tastes about the same and saves a ton.

That would be great!!! I would order from the US though the only issues are size, and the chance that it could be a wrong order.

Nike Bauer doesn't allow retailers in the US to sell their products overseas (I know, sucks a lot). Same goes for CCM, Easton and THC (Rbk, Jofa etc.)

look on ebay for someone that will ship internationally...even if they don't say they do in their listing you can email and ask them if they will. Just make sure to buy from someone with almost 100% positive feedback with more than a few feedback comments. It'll take longer to get the gloves, but at those prices it'd be worth the wait. I'd think you'd have a decent idea as far as sizing goes..just start with your correctly sized previous gloves and read the threads here about the fit of various gloves. If you end up with the wrong size you should be able to sell them in Australia for at least what you paid for them with the prices in stores being as high as they are.

are you sure the guy wasn't confusing the gloves for the skates? For that much money they should come with a set of spare hands.

Isn't $449 oz more like $340 US, which, while considerably more than you pay for the gloves here, may account for the shipping/export tariffs and costs of maintaining a stock level sufficent to service the market, in a non traditional area.

Its the same at home. In northern Ireland Vector Pro gloves cost 130 sterling, which is $330 in oz or $250 US,

It sucks but thats life.

Guinness is cheaper and better at home than here, you know, so you win some, lose some

When I go in the spring I'll gladly take gear over in exchange for Guiness

Well, depending on where you go (I get to go in november again), the guinness is superb.

I am from the north, and my wife is from Enniskillen, which is county fermanagh. A lot of tourists avoid the north because of the troubles and what not (her town, if you google enniskillen bomb) was blown up some years ago, but there are some great things to see.

Firstly, from a hockey perspective, the belfast giants (me modelling the giants jersey) are there, so you have that.

Then the giants causeway, great to see, and Bushmills, the oldest distillery in the world, where you will get free samples of several whiskeys there too

But if you go up north, go to Enniskillen, and a bar called Blakes of the Hollow, on main street.

It has the best guinness in the world, and I am not exaggerating when I say that, better than the guinness factory pub. To say it is perfect is an understatement

Me, an hour before my wedding, in blakes, having my last pint as a single man.

Northern Ireland is a fantastic place, people should go there, but don't wear noticiably Irish or English colours, because if you don't know your area, you could get hospitalized very quickly

I haven't been in the North since I was a kid and we went to see some of my da's family there. Ever since I've had literally no desire to step foot there again.

Dad almost ran a roadblock when he was over there on vacation back when I was still in middle school. It was on a blind corner and he may have been going a little too fast. He didn't have a great report on the north, but that was a long time ago. Most of our family came from the south, and I'm not sure how long I'll have when I come over but I'm game for anywhere that has the best Guiness in Ireland. I still have most of a bottle of Black Bush that I was given a few years ago, love that stuff.

I grew up 15 minutes from the border, near derry, so fun times were had by all.

I guess coming from the area, I know where to go, what to avoid, so its easier for me, but I still recommend a trip to skin town to go to blakes, its worth any potential trouble (which you will not encounter unless you go looking for it, most times) for the quality of the pint
