$2000 for my normal team, then maybe.... $800 for gear, and at least $1000 more for tournaments and such, and then maybe $700 for transportation, food, etc. Comes to about $4500.

I said 2-3000. It cost me $950 for the team

I spent almost 400 on gear (2 blades, gloves, elbows, helmet, laces)

factor in gas, sticks that have yet to break and be bought this season, sharpenings, etc...

hockeys not cheap :(

I usualy dont have to pay anything, but this year our league joined with the south, so we have to pay 400$ to help out with the road trips. I got spme sponsers tho, so it wont be that bad.

For me, about $1000, but our goalie also plays Junior C, and says its $6000 a year to play, but if he gets to Junior A or college

I highly doubt anyone playing Jr. C is going to be playing in college (unless he somehow got into Junior as a 12 year old...). Hell, most guys playing Jr. A won't get a sniff at a scholly. Every Jr. C team I have ever had the misfortune of watching has been trash. 6k a season for that kinda hockey...not worth it, as far as I am concerned.

That was brutal. Basically just told that guy his hockey sucks?

No, I told him that the hockey his goalie isn't playing the kind of hockey that is going to get him much beyond where he already is - or at least that it isn't worth $6,000 a year.

I'm not (trying to) take anything away from Jr. C. I'm sure that play at that level have a Hell of a lot of fun with it - it's hockey! I am saying that the guys playing at that level probably shouldn't bank-on getting their higher education paid for because of their nasty puck-skills or superior puck-stopping abilities.

$32 for USA hockey registration

however much for gas, 5 miles each way to the rink x 3-4 times a week

nothing for league fees (i work at a rink)

and about $2.6 billion on team beer.

That is very low I didn't think it would be so cheap to play.

My son plays and we pay a hella lot of money.

But you say you work at the rink so thats probably were you get your discount from (league fees)

What's a guy in any National program doing playing house league ?

Its a pretty big difference but around here some guys go from house to jr.b because of the rep system

:o 32$ holy crap thats low.

I paid $35 online for USA Hockey this year. You get their hockey magazine too though which is worth a few bucks, and if you could stand the ribbing from your teammates, you can get a patch from USAH if you get 3 goals or 3 assists in a game. Those are priceless, ha ha.
