apparantly nobody saw the forearm to the mouth he took right in front of the refs. it happened right in front of me. he made a move and was stood up, and then he was hit in the face wtih an elbow/forearm. he was just giving it back.

It's a two way street. Crosby isn't a total finesse player like Gretz was evident by the kid's grit in the corners. In doing so, he takes a lot of extra abuse. Seriously, I've followed Crosby for a while and he's had more face washes than an obsessive compulsive germaphobe.

I'm sure in his mind he's fighting fire with fire. If some people (and media) choose only to see the retaliation side of it, so be it. Remember a young Forsberg? He was brutal with the cheap shots and dirty hits. Same thing. I wish the kid and Foppa didn't do that stuff, but what goes around comes around.

Guys, I want to like the kid, I really do. All I'm asking is that he starts acting in a way that shows he "gets" how important he is to the future of the sport that I love. He's a great hockey player but he's also a cocky, 19 year old asshole right now. Hopefully he learns to respect the sport that is going to provide his fame and fortune.

As for being a homer, I'm actually enjoying watching the Flyers lose so much this year. I'm a hockey fan and I want to see the league get better, just not at the expense of what remaining integrity they have left.

Crosby is very much a heart on his sleeve type of guy. Its almost comical watching him burn a player for a goal a couple shifts right after getting roughed up. He takes whatever is thrown at him shoves it right back in there face. I can see why he doesnt have many fans outside of Pittsburgh. But that is fine by me, because the more people try to bring him down the better he plays.
