We can see the guy is talented but the kind of moves he did does not impress me that much. Those moves are just hot dog useless moves in a game. The one with the head fake was nice though.

At that age, the kid should probably be more concerned with learning how to develop as a hockey player as opposed to trying to become a one-man circus.

Most talented kids around here are more worried about being the one man circus.

i liked the 3rd and the last goal. they were pretty sick moves. i sure hope the kid doesn't use 'em in real games, and i sure hope the kid knows how to pass to his teammates. In all fairness to him, in some situations its ok to do those moves, at least the fans are enjoying themselves, IMO.

the competittion is called....A SKILLS COMPETITION!!! It's not, what can you do in a game situation, or else they wouldnt need skills competitions...this is for fun just to do a little showboating and see what you can do...cut the kid some slack. At least that is my opinion, take it for what it is worth.

It is a skills competition, probably the most proper time to try/show these moves off. Who cares if he didn't score on the circus shots; he seems to have his more game-applicable moves down pretty well when he pulled those out. I'm impressed more so by the "normal" dekes than the batting out of the air/lax stuff anyways. Kid's got hands. He must be a rink rat at that age.

your point?

i knew he was 13, but these moves arent something he would pull off in a game, if he did, hed get his head knocked off

Maybe they should consider getting a goalie with an ounce of hockey sense. If you see anyone pulling that hisey bullshit then you pokecheck or at the very least knock him on his ass. The only semi-decent move was the swede aka Forsberg but he barely pulled that off.

Im not a "hater" but im bantam and I have friends that can do all those moves and more. At my school we have some crazy good players. There was this one kid that play AAA jr canadiens that I watched that was just plain sick. He'll rip that kid anyday.

Could care less about the moves. I was more impressed on how solid he was on his skates and confidence with the puck at that age.

Pretty good stuff.

Too many haters, I for one liked the kids skill level (in that perticular event)

Swear I saw a clip of Zetterberg doing that last move in-game, hitting the post.

All the moves he simply duplicated from watching TV, but hey that's what we all do in a sense, props for beeing able to do them at age 13.

I've never jumpe don you before, but enough is enough. As if you're gonna chirp fletch after you said the dumbest remark of them all. He didn't score on all of them? how old are you? can you do those moves? i bet you're a huge bender, and this 13 year old would make you look silly.

Everyone on this board hates your posts, you have the worst arguments ever. this is a skills competition. Who cares if he's a hot dog, i kinda remember people lovin shremp after he did that crazy shootout lax style.

Stick to your pink laces and looking pretty with your closet full of shoes, while this 13 year old will play anywhere he wants if hes that agile and quick when he gets older

Silky Smooth...and I don't know whether I'm talking about his stickhandling or his skating. The kid just exudes confidence. That's ridiculous...I started PLAYING at 13.

Man, one thing I've noticed over the years is hockey players just don't want to give other players their due. I'll remark on the bench, "Number 19 is pretty good." Invariably, someone will say, "No, he's not!"

OF COURSE this kid is skilled for this type of competition. OF COURSE we have no idea how that translates to a real game, since he could be like most young players with skill -- no vision on the ice or teamwork in their play. BUT he definitely has skills.

Hell, I tell all the little kids I've been coaching, "You guys will be skating circles around me in five years." I think it's great to see.
