Therma Blade

Recommended Posts

No, the blade and holder are an single unit that work together. I've tried them and didn't like them. No reason. Maybe my thinking that ice skates are an area certain technologies shouldn't go.

this has some good info/history etc.

Was shown in Edmonton Toronto Vancouver I believe.

City TV Video

BTW the electronics in the blades I was wearing have not worked for at least a month and a half but the blade itself even unheated is still very good.

Still nicer to skate on than the Cobras I was on.

Pro Skate and United Cycle in Edmonton still say they will have final version in store in Mid November.

Their marketing/PR guy deserves some kudos, there was even a bit in the USA Today about them. I'm not sure I've seen a product launch from a new company get as much attention as this product.

At the media release at the Hall of Fame they said that Dan Craig the NHL 'Ice Man' has signed off on the blades with regards to damage to the ice. There is no damage further than what a regular blade does 'and there is a chance it may be 'marginally' better. NHL player testing will verify that

So the NHL is going to begin to test a product known as Thermablades, skate blades heated by a battery to increase speed. And I guess I'm the only one to wonder what the difference is between using battery-operated blades to go faster and HGH to get bigger and stronger.

only at the pro level will these even make a difference in performance

if they even do what they claim

only way im shelling out 300 plus bucks for them is if they actually help with injuries and the such
