My 15 second Warrior Dolomite stick

Recommended Posts

i received my 2007 Warrior Dolomite stick (nipple grip version)last week. i taped it up and got it all ready for my monday nite game. because of work, i was late to my game, so i didn't even use the stick in warm ups. anyways, i jump on to start the game and about 15 seconds into the game, i receive a pass down the left side and attempt to take a snap shot and the picture is the result of what happened. The stick literally didnt touch a thing until i received the pass. i've owned over 25 different one piece models and have never seen anything like this.

Date is really irreverent at this point; the site crashed, it's back, some shit isn't right...the important thing there is that the site is back.

Ever hear the expression "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth?"

It is probably a coincidence, but a few weeks ago I got ak27 in a mail, opened it up and noticed a little notch/chip right about the same place your's broke. upon further examination discovered that there was a crack under the paint all around the perimeter there. Had I taken a single shot with it, It would have broken. I wonder if someone at the factory dropped a forklift onto a stack of shafts?

Exactly - people bitch and bitch, yet, this is a privately-funded website.

Sticks just don't break like that unless they've been abused beforehand. Like some kid (or adult) over flexing them in the store. Then you buy the thing and on first shot it breaks. You think its the stick, but it's the stupid flexers who set you up.

Or, there is the outside chance that there was a manufacturing default int he stick before you even tried a shot with it. I have had the same thing happen with composite softball bats - you get a new one come and it snaps in two after a couple at bats - it is a mistake at the factory, and usually it isn't even counted against ther warranty.

Slight possibility considering how sticks are manufactured now-a-days, but I suspose remotely possible.

i bought the stick from Hockey monkey and it came in a very big box which showed no sign of abuse. i always check a stick as soon as i receive it to see if there are any questionable spots and the stick looked perfect. I just hope Warrior replaces it with no problems. i bought a easton SE to hopefully hold me over until i receive my warrenty replacement

Not to pull the post into a tangent, I know how much shop owners hate the flexing thing, but the otherday one of the big guys in my team wanted to look at my stick. I let him have a puckhandle but then he started to flex the living shit out of it. I saw his stick next to mine and started doing the same. He began to have a whinge when I was doing it to his twig and I replied... "Well, why the f*** would you do the same to mine you stupid p***" He was just a tad embarresed when he realised he was being a prick as I'd stated.

I now reallly know how the shop owners feel.

Make sure to give us a review! If it breaks in 20 secs, we might suspect a new problem....you! :P :D

Aussie Joe, i was in a shop in a Toronto area arena (Westwood) last weekend and there was a sign that said do not flex sticks please. Probably the smartest sign i've ever seen. I was also in a shop in Milton last week and had a guy sit there and tell me how warriors are made and hipoxied and wrapped more then other sticks and what not. The original post kind of makes that guy look a tad bit less smart

Hmmmm I was supposed to goto Toronto in Dec, but airfares from NYC were abit too steep.

In regards to how sticks are made, its been my personal experience that Easton's hold up to a serious amount of punishment. I've used Bauers, Missions and CCM... with only the late Innovatives coming close in quality. Innovative is Warrior (to some extent) but its my experience so far that the quality in the Easton stick really is unmatched. Im sure that shop owner was only trying to get a sale from you in any respect.

In my LHS there is a sign that asks not to handle the sticks without employee help. No one pays attention to it. But the employees do pay attention to people looking at sticks. I also will say something like "Hey, easy on the stick." If I see someone flexing the crap out of a stick. Normally they'll say that it's supposed to flex and I'll just comment that the stick is meant to flex on the ice not on the store's floor. Normally at that point an employee chimes in with a "He's right" and the encounter is over.

I can understand why people do it, it's just ignorance. But if no one tells them; how are they supposed to know.

I wonder if any shops have their high end OPS's locked up on a rack with a sign that says "For assistance please ask one of our friendly employees" etc etc. For some small shops its a big investment of capital to have even a semi decent line up on their shelves.

Think about it, when someone flexs a stick and breaks it in the shop, the store owner is out that money. That stick is not under warranty. So prices will rise to cover cost of the stick. Who looses, you do. Just don't flex sticks, it proves nothing. A 85 flex is a 85 flex, doesn't matter the brand or model. No reason to flex a stick at all, you should know what flex you use at this point in life. Laying on a stick in a store on the floor proves nothing.

yeah because were all staying a consistent 170 pounds fot life. If I hadn't switched flex my shot would suck so much worse. I don't flex sticks dry, I dont like watching people flex sticks dry, especially really really leaning into them for a few seconds, but c'mon..

Flexing in the shop really proves nothing. You'll know whether you are going up or down in flex by the number or ranking. Seeing how much in the shop really doesn't impact your on-ice expectations much.

I went to a Sens game against the Caps in January and Ovechkin broke a stick in the blade. He then went to the bench after the whistle, the equipment guy gave him 3 sticks to choose from. He looked at all 3, chose 1, and then went to the faceoff circle. The centerman won the draw to the point, the D-man went to give him a break out pass, and the stick broke about a foot up from the bottom of the shaft. All that he did was receive a pass. It took about 3 seconds. That is the fastest I have ever seen! Although, I have no sympathy for him, he doesn't pay for them, like everybody here does!

Sorry to hear about you bad luck!!!
