Mission Helium?

Recommended Posts

I am sure you will find dealers in AZ by going to missionhockey.com and looking up the authorized dealers.

Thank you, but nobody on that list even knows what the Helium line is.

Looks like I will have to order them, any possibility for a group buy for the 950's?

Also, how are the skates sized in comparison to shoe size.

Thanks.

Missions are generally equal to shoe size to one size down depending on how you like the skates to fit (though some wear them even smaller). Try a search for mission sizing, we've had quite a few subjects on this recently. There's even one on the first page in this forum.

Keep in mind it is a new line.

That just wouldn't make sense since you really cant get those skates custom. Why not just buy them from you're LHS?

I saw a pair on Riley at the elite league game. I'm not very fond of the mostly white boot.

lol....I grew up playing with and against Sean. He's a classy kid :)

Does anyone know what kind of warranty Mission skates have? I really want to buy a pair but I have heard "things" about the durability of the boots (not just on here, but from friends at rinks).

I found this on the mission website by clicking on "Warranty"

With respect to skates, Mission Hockey warrants, to the original consumer only, that its skates will be free from defects in materials and workmanship during normal and customary use for one (1) year from the original retail purchase date provided (1) the skate was purchased from an authorized Mission dealer; (2) the consumer presents proof of purchase from the authorized dealer in the form of an original cash register receipt; and (3) the skate has not been abused, altered, defaced, or misused, or otherwised damaged through the act or neglect of the consumer.

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear.

So, if I spend $400 on skates and the outsole blows out in 2 years due to a manufacturer defect, I'm screwed.

Manufacturers defects generally show up quickly, not years down the line. If you get two years out of most new skates, that's better than average. Don't expect to get the newest, lightest skates, from any manufacturer, and expect them to last forever.

A good example is OPS. Most of them break as a result of normal use, not a manufacturers defect. So far, some manufacturers have been replacing them anyway but are not required to do so according to the terms of the warranty.

Mission has one of the if not the best CS departments in the industry. Give them a ring if you have problems, they'll get you back on track very quickly...

With most hockey companies, this would be absolutely true. A one year warranty is not bad at all, like chadd said, genereally if there is a big problem with the skates, it will occur within the one year time frame. But for example, two friends on my team had d-1's. Both had issues with the outsole, and both times they were outside of the one year time frame. The first problem occured a couple months ago, and mission gave him brand new 2004 d-1's, no problem. The other problem occured about a week ago, and he will be getting either helium 950's or 750's in the next day or two. They seem to be pretty reasonable.

My Friend is on his 3rd pair of replacemenet D1c's however he talked to the CS and said he doesnt want to keep a pair of skates that keep separating from the outsole every couple of months so he's getting a pair of heliums also.
