Christian custom composite sticks ?

Recommended Posts

I've been using Christian sticks all my life and came back to them when Harrow took over the name and started making composite ones. I've tried everything else but keep coming back...Warrior, Synergy, Stealth...the quality isn't there in the Christians but I just love the way they feel.

Anyways, I was on their site ordering a few blades tonight and noticed something about "Infinity" Custom Graphite Sticks coming in 21 days.

Anyone know what thats about?

Thanks!

Probably same as Bauer id, pick your flex/curve and they'll toss a paint job on there. BUT if they offer a whole bunch of curves that'd be sweet.

i dont know how you could like christian stuff. Not only is it extremely heavy, but there is no performance whatsoever and for a heavy shaft breaking 3 in one prac shouldnt bean issue

Any breakage on the Christian OPS is either the result of a bad batch (something they have been honest about) or abuse. The red ones were, by far, the most durable sticks I ever sold.

Call me crazy, but I think a 5.4% rate of return on a warranty that exceeds industry strandard by 30 days is a pretty strong argument to the durability of Christian composite sticks. But then again, what do I know!

Thanks for the back-up, Chadd.

From the few people that I know that have used Christian OPSs, they love them. I haven't personally used one but my buddy strictly uses christian at this point.

I am of the opinion that the Diamondlite is the greatest standard shaft ever. I hoarded them like JR does with meta flyweights.

I'd love to try a shaft, but there's a gap between 60 and 100 flex. Hopefully I'll pick up a blade soon as they're on clearance locally.

6 months of bad batches doesnt fair well, especially when your holding a tree in your hands, and have the kick of the shaft similar to an easton classic. Worst stick ive ever used, and good thing i got rid of all of mine never to see them again

Sounds like you guys were abusing the shit out of them. I agree that the performance isn't like an Stealth but they are extremely durable for everyone I've seen use them, including some former pros. The Torch lites had problems, the red ones have not.

I use their 85 flex shafts and OPS.

There are some people you'll never convince, and you are apparently one of them. No problem, our sticks don't work for everyone.

Just curious...if you had such a bad batch, why didn't you contact us? I believe we are very good about fixing problems.

If they are truly custom, then I am stoked. I grew up using Christian sticks, and I would order up a batch of custom composites right quick!

Heck, I have even considered going back to woodies just to go Christian custom.

I've had no durability issues with the Torch I'm testing. The thing feels like it wouldn't know how to break.

I'll have another post up on the stick soon.

I've got the torch tapered shaft and I love the damn thing, it doesn't have the same response as some other shafts I've used but it's definately good enough, and durable as all hell, I snapped another guys ST in practice a few days ago after he stuck me in the face. Usually if you slash someone that hard your stick won't last much longer but I have yet to notice any problems.

The reason for that is they weigh their shafts as is, there is no * beside the weight, they do not weigh stick at standard 57inch length or whatever it is. They weigh the shaft/stick with a butt end in (if they have it) and the length it is finished as.

You can order the Northland through hockeystick.com

The other two wood sticks my brother had a batch made of each to his specs. He wanted them to look identical to the 80 US Olypmic Team stick Broten used. Same for the North Stars one. But the fonts were more modern looking them he got them. They are fun to use now and then though....

Zach is correct. A lot of companies use smoke and mirrors when publishing their weights. Our weights are what we say they are...they are not misrepresented because of a specific length, a wood end-plug, an unpainted shaft, or any other deciving tactic.

Our sticks are not the lightest on the market and we've never claimed them to be, however our 2008 model Torch (the one LkpTiger is speaking of) is lighter than the ones we've done in the past. We are using a higher concentration of graphite which lightens the stick and improves the feel. It really is a fantastic stick.

The graphics are changing and the sticks will be available by mid-November. Our Infinity program will be released in early December.

I will post a picture of the new stick shortly, but you will be able to see it in the next edition of USA Hockey Magazine.
