Itech Tinted Halfy

Recommended Posts

The images aren't working...but...to the best of my knowledge the tint is available in a retail visor, but the cut he wears isn't.

I beleive I remember someone posting on here a couple of years or so ago that they asked the itech spokesperson about the cut and the Itech Guy said it was heated and done by the Thrashers themselves. It was later discovered Itech actually did do that cut.

Try this...

I know that Itech sells many factory tinted visors, but I have never seen that cut for sale before. Looks sleek.

Thanks for your help RadioGaGa. And oh boy slaw, the Thrasher's equipment manager must have had a pretty steady hand. ;) Do you recall if it has ever been for sale?

Mike

Yes, that was me.

whats the advantage of wearing a tinted visor?

Looking so damn cool. Other than that, NHL rinks can be a little bright on the ice and the tint tones it down.

Is the cut is to keep the visor from touching the ear loop? In addition to looks and airflow...

im guessing that could be it. Every once and awhile my ear loops get moved around and have to get yanked down because of my visor ( itech straight tinted) is pushed right close to the side of my helmet.

No, the cut has nothing to do with the ear loops.

We have had a few of those come our way in the non tinted version. I believe the proper description is the Itech J-Cut Aviator which is a non HECC certified visor. We got them from a couple teams at the end of the season but was never given a reason why they have the cut out..

No half shield is HECC certified... So come to think of it i dont know why they wouldnt make this model available to the public. I think ill call my rep and see if we can get this through a special order or special program. if not then ill just call a couple equipment managers and see what they can do. Maybe they'll have the answer as to what the J-Cut version is exactly for

Why is it hard to figure out why they are not available to retailers and the retail market?

It's ground down on the sides for better peripheral vision. But it is exposed...moreso than any other visor.

People want what they cannot have. As long as exceptions are made for someone, someone else will want it.

If you're going to bring candy in here, bring enough to share :o

I want to know why there is such an obsession with having everything the pros have. I want to collect things as a fan, but both God and I know that my game isn't going to improve whether I wear a cage, a shield or a special cut visor that just me and 3 other people on earth have allowing .07% more vision and 15% better chance of loosing an eye.

The only thing I can see are skates (allowing better mobility, protection, fit, power transfer), maybe sticks for curves and avoiding warranty fees.

"ZOMG! Ovey is wearing new skates! When are these coming out, what do they weigh and how much will it cost my mom?"

You're also not a 12 year old having mommy buy what he sees on TV. One should have a career before becoming a gear whore, IMO.

The cut of the european "Hejduk MH-X" visor looks similar but without the wave in the middle:

I have one and really like it, but i cant see any advantage over visors without the cut-outs on the sides other than the "pro-look" :D

Why is it so hard to figure out?? Because like i said, no half shield is HECC certified so why should it matter what they release to the public??? Whether its ground down or not and allows better vision why should it matter? People buying half shields can get hurt whether they have that section on or off the shield.
