Its hard to judge at this point. Both articles have valid points, Crosby has had the better supporting cast, but he's also helped players like Armstrong turn in some modest scoring when playing on his wing.

Ovechkin has never had much, but he makes it happen on his own and has a better physical game than Crosby.

Time will tell. They kinda play different styles of hockey so it will always be hard to judge. Sid is a finesse player and a passer, Ovechkin is a bull that shoots often.

By the stats alone Crosby is better. Crosby has 228 pts and 5 pts in the playoffs.

Ovechkin has 203 pts and 0 playoffs.

It has been said before Crosby is on a better team.

Ovechkin is on a better Caps team this year so we will see.

I would pay more to see Ovechkin than Crosby. Ovechkin if he is not scoring, he is atleast playing a physical game.

If Crosby is not scoring, you will hardly notice him.

That depends on what you count as valuable stats. Ovechkin has 101 goals and 102 assists, along with countless jarring hits that intimidate players.

Crosby has more assists, but less goals, how many assists were secondary, how many primary etc etc.

I'm not saying that one is better over the other. They play different positions, different styles.

I'm just saying depending on what value you place on certain stats you can make the case either way

I was just making the point of most people see Crosby as the better palyer because of total points and playoff performance. He has been to the playoffs and averaged a point a game. I know it is only five games, but Ovechkin has not made the playoffs. I think that might change this year.

I think the Caps may make the playoffs this year. The East looks very tight this year. The only bad team is the Thrashers, maybe until Hossa comes back.

Without a doubt both are special players.

Crosby is much better.

If someone ran a poll of NHL GM's I would find myself quite surprised if more than 1 or 2 or them said they thought Ovechkin was a better player.

Put AO on Crosby's Pens and the point totals fall in his favor. By more then a few points. Malkin and AO would be a deadly combo.

Hard to say who's better really. At this stage, does it really matter...

I like Ovechkin better because of his style of play.

I'm getting the impression that the answer would be "One more than we had." That will also serve as the answer when the same question is posed in the next thread on the same topic. Is it even a question worth asking anymore?

I haven't responded to the other threads, so I'll respond to this one.

I honestly think Crosby is better. Watching him last night, he looked smooth out there. His pass to Gonchar(?) for the goal was amazing and his defense skills are there too. Overall, I like him a lot more, and think he is a lot better than Ovechkin (little bit biased).
