damn dogs

Recommended Posts

so last night i go to my dads game. we get back to find my dad left the gate open that blocks my dogs from going into the rooms open. Go into my room found out that my dog thinks my brand new skates are a nice chew toy along with my shin pads and various other objects in my room. The shin pads just have some bite marks but what pisses me off most is my skates which ive only wore once now have the corner of the tendon guard chewed off.

ill post pics soon.

FIgured this would go nicely under the "damn dogs" thread. About a week ago, I am laying my stuff out in my back yard after a skate, and living in an apartment complex, i run into my neighbor. She proceeds to tell me "oh by the way, the little terrier that lives in this complex has been getting out of his cage and pissing on your gear...." "ive seen it a couple of times". damn dogs indeed...

sucks to have your sktes all chewed up, but it could be worse, like zales17's post ;)

your saying you skated with pissed-on gear?

THAT SUCKS!

I had a guy come into the shop this week for new gear because his cat thought his hockey bag made a great litter box. He tried to clean off the cat piss. Hey, don't waste your time. Once that stuff is on your gear, it is history.

yeah it was my dads fault for leaving the gate open...so he is buying me a new pair. i paid for this pair so yeah hes getting me the new ones.

so yeah there might potentually be a pair of chewed skates in the for sale section later. they are still usable and i have the corner taped up with white tape so it looks decent but id rather have a brand new pair that isnt chewed.

We have two Jack Russell terriers and I've learned from experience to never leave my equipment anywhere near where their favouite hang out spots in the house are. They've come close a couple of times to relieving themselves on my sons and my own equipment bags ( both number one and number two ) so the equipment stays downstairs now instead of the sunroom which is by the back door. I don't know if it is the smell of the perspiration in the equipment or the smell of the padding itself but it seems to prompt a dog or cat to relieving itself around the hockey bags.

I once had my dog chew threw the mesh of my lacrosse stick before a game. I was a goalie and it was funny showing up to the game with a whole in the mesh luckly I had a stringing kit in my bag and gave a quick string and everything worked out fine except for the fact I didn't have time to get warmed up.

I'm lucky my dog left the "chew everything" stage before I started playing hockey again.

Although she did get:

Pioneer Premier DEH-P860 stereo worth $500

Black leather dress shoes worth $120

At least $250 in dress shirts and ties

She took a bite out of a $300 guitar

Chewed up $100 worth of keyboards and mice

Oh yeah, and for some odd reason, she managed to tinkle on all my spare hockey laces. So last month, I put on a new pair in the locker room, and everyone's looking at me sideways. Go home and grab another set as the first reeked, same thing.
