Just wondering if anyone saw this last night or has a video of it? From watching the news i guess one player jumped in to the other bench and try to fight someone on the other team. The league is also taking it under review

Funny part is i had a tryout for a team in that league and a buddy on my team was supsoe to play for that Blue team, summerside. Absolute Gong show

It would have been fine if the kid stayed on the ice and fought rather than running away to his bench. That was a weak move.

Please tell me that was nothing more then a C level house league. Those kids in white are crazy and seemed like they were trying to slaughter the first guy.

Tell me why you would chase after that blue player in the beginning like that?

And did the player in white seriously try to use his stick? Thats the pussiest move Ive ever seen in my hockey career. What a joke, I hope he got his brains bashed in just for the thought of bringing a stick into a fight.

What a joke! TSN was talking about it...not sure if it was the coach or manager of the White team...but he offered to buy that footage (which was shot by a a couple Media students who were at the game) so ti wouldn't get out.

The initial guy (who chased Blue back to the bench) said it was for "revenge" not sure if it was something from within it the game or something from another game.

It's not a gong show though. It's a decent league, step down from the Q. A lot of fomer midget aaa guys go there, and players go up and down to the Q from there. The fight looks bad on the league but it's really just as good as jr. a anywheres else in Canada.

And after playing midget AAA or coming from the Q, shouldnt you know its just un-thought of to even act like your going to use your stick in a fight.

I think it's quite unfair to judge the league based on the actions of a few individuals. I've had numerous friends go up and down and through that league, and it's been on par with Jr A. leagues throughout Canada. If you're gonna label this league as a "bush league" for a guy diving into a bench, or picking a stick up in a fight, than the NHL is just as bad, if not worse.

Shouldn't NHLer's no better to cross check playaers in the face? It happens, it's a sad part of hockey but it will happen at any level of hockey.

It is this kind of crap that hurts the game. Fighting is a necessary evil in hockey. It helps to keep everyone honest.

It looks like one kid was challenged and ran away. I do not know what caused this situation, but if you play dirty and cheap you better man-up when your number is called.

I wouldn't be suprised if the player who ran away got his ass kicked by every team in the league the rest of the season. Literally running away from a fight like that would instantly make you the laughing stock of the league. If your not going to fight, at least turtle or something...

I don't think he was trying to use a stick in a fight he just slammed it on the ice to get some attention from his own guy and break it up. He was trying to get his guy out my pulling on his pants to get him away from the bench but that didn't seem to work.

That is a very good point. I stand corrected. I replied with anger before thinking it through in a way.

I guess a better question would have been: What is that guy doing in the league.

EDIT -- I can kind of assume after watching the video that the player might not have been liked very much? One or two of the white guys were getting annaliated on the blue bench, and no re-inforcements from the white bench. Im getting the feeling that if it were a legit fight then maybe the white bench wouldve jumped, but since there was no body insight helping, it makes you wonder how much they contribute to the team / chemistry.

As for that guy flying into the bench, hes crazy, I would of killed him, he would of never got an opportunity to get up, that would be his last dumb move...

Super Star, you are also right. The guy was just using a stick to get the guys attention to stop. He had tried to pull him off but couldn't do it.

86 game suspention combiened for all the players involved...20 to both the halifax player who chased the other guy to the bench and the halifax player who jumped into the bench
