Whats up with this AWARD?

Recommended Posts

I understand that everyone has a the right to give their opinion and such. But it burns my ass when some (SO CALLED EXPERT) gives an award for something that is totally misleading just to sell some products. I deal with something similar in my industry and it's a freaking joke.

a little google searching gave me this

reviewboard

still dont know what good that award is to sell the stick though..

Simple; consumers are suckers to awards. If they see some kind, Any kind for that matter they assume it's true and will buy it. Again I deal with this on a daily basis on my industry. Lets say a mom who has no idea about sticks and her son wants an Easton for his birthday. Well mom being a savy shopper goes online and finds this. She reads the info and thinks that she has made a wiser purchase. Not that I'm ragging on NBH. I'm just using this as an example. Who wrote this artical and what makes them an expert on what is and is not an award winning product. Hell they didnt even use any comps other than saying that you see these being used by Pro's and collages that are BY THE WAY,sponserd.

Hell look at it this way. Even "respected" awards like the J.D. Power award aren't hard to earn. Rather, J.D. Power requests an ungodly some of money to advertise a product as a J.D. Power award winner.

Oh so true. Everyone has a price and some just refuse to believe it. It's just a shame and thats why I'm thankful for this site.

Sure, next you'll tell us that Oscars/Grammys & Emmy's aren't "earned" - they are campaigned for...

(psssst...mumbled voice from off set)

Oh, n/m.

let's put it this way, most awards are a result of someone feeding someone $$$, or an ulterior motive. Al Gore a Nobel Peace Prize, perfect example.

There are no unbiased awards for hockey equipment.

...Besides MSH "Product of the Year" awards. :D

I agree. We all have our favorit products for one reason or another but for the most part we all on this site tend to agree on what is a good and bad product.

Don't take to much notice of these awards myself. As was previously stated it is just someones opinion and really doesn't reflect on the products long term durability or quality. How many cars have you seen that where voted top car of the year and later ended up being duds because of the bugs their research and development guys didn't catch? It's nice to win an award but it's a lot harder to live up to it after.

Yes we did. This year may involve a bit more travel to deliver our awards if some of the major manufacturers don't come to the trade shows. ROADIE!!!!!
