Mens League Shoulder pads

Recommended Posts

This isn't the most traditional route for an ice player to take, but it worked for me. I picked up one of those RBK Padded Shirts (that I think are marketed to inline players.) It was only like $30 and is surprisingly protective - covering almost all of the upper body with virtually no restriction to movement. Very lightweight also and not bulky.

I know many people probably prefer capped pads because that's what they're familiar with, but this solution works for me.

I love the classics, extremely comfortable. I love them.

what i found with the ones i have now is, the shoulder caps are to floppy, they dont stay on my shoulders.... that bugs the shit out of me.. lol. are the classics better

They don't bother me. I have to adjust them after I put my jersey on but after that they stay in place.

I've got some Louisville plastic pads that look like a linebacker would wear....I thought about putting some spikes on the shoulders for our team pic....

I wear the 5030s but switched out the straps to make them fit better

I don't lace the top or bottom eyelets and let the pads spread a bit to get the fit that I want with them.

I feel you there but you can't live you life in fear and it's not like it's a common occurance. And if you're really worried about hurting something don't block a shot, you can play JR style and sit on the red line. :P

yeah after hearing that story, it made me not want to play any defense anymore and wait over to the side where it's safe

I wear these - bought them off one of the guys on here, as I couldn't find any XXL pads up this way. They are TPS BBA - I think they were replaced by the Contour model.

I do not wear the ab protection - I drink beer for that. :P They have good mobility, and aren't too heavy, but still have plenty of protection for the chest and shoulders.

After hearing about somone getting killed atleast once a year form the shot to the chest it makes me wanna upgrade my chest pads not down grade.

Well there's proper technique to blocking a shot...I learned to take your hand and cover your neck and also on the same arm have your elbow cover your chest area and use my stick to extend my reach.

Personally, I like my Bauer 300s (or 400 for the past year's models). It's got big shoulder caps but I find them very mobile and lightweight still.

I use that too and like it alot. Mission makes a version with small shoulder caps that I'm looking at, too.

I keep clicking that link, hoping it'll stop looking like a dress to me... not working yet.
