Ice Hockey Girdle

Recommended Posts

if you can find the rbk 8k pant for a good price, go for it. it's true that the button closure for the zippers is prone to coming loose but in my experience, as long as you wrapped the thigh pads on right, the zippers won't come undone.

the 6k is probably just as good although i have no had any experience with it.

the 9k is really heavy but it's probably a lot lighter on the ice. it's definitely an upgrade in total protection compared to the 8k but i'm willing to bet its weight is still significantly more.

Anyone who thinks the 9k pants are "really heavy" has probably never skated in them or needs to hit the weight room. I went from the 8k to the 9k and yes the 9k's are slighly heavier in the hand but I did not notice a difference on the ice. I am not the strongest person in the world either (5'10", 160lb). I like the 9k's because they are snug around the waist and hips (the padding stays put) while the legs are free to move. I wouldn't trade my 9k's for anything. As for the other girddle options, I admit that I have no experience with them and therefor cannot compare. I am just giving my experience and opinion about the 9k.

Does anyone know where to buy the old Cooper/Bauer MBP? I currently wear a Cooper MBP in medium that I've been using for a decade. I'm finally getting some serious holes that I won't be able to sew and I tried on a medium one90 but it felt like it would have more of a propensity to slide downwards rather than stay in place. I'm going to try a small, but I don't know if the wrap design inhibits that snug feel that I currently get with the MBP. Did Cooper/Bauer/NikeBauer's sizes ever change because it seems as if the one90 girdle runs larger than the old Cooper MBP?

I had a question about this Cooper/Bauer MBP girdle. I checked out hockeyworld, and saw they only have the medium. I'm about 6'0, 175 lbs, with around a 33/34" waist. Having never worn a girdle before, I'm wondering if those of you that have worn this think this will fit alright? Thanks.

Used to use a Cooper pro (predecessor to the MBP)size small when my waist was a 32. Now I'm 6', 190 and a tight 34 waist. The small Cooper pro was getting a little old and a little tight so I moved up to the medium Bauer MBP8 fits pretty nicely. Not to tight not too loose. But it is adjustable, I prefer the girdle tight but I was pushing the Cooper to it's limits in a small once my waist hit 33-34.

Not too many girdles out there in an "XL" Is there a big difference between roller hockey/ice girdles?

I have used the Graf girdle for a while now and I LOVE IT!! It is incredibly lightweight, and very protective as well. When I first picked it up, I thought it was an inline girdle, thats how light and thin it is. But I got hit in the thighs with a couple clappers, and it protects great. I only know one place that sells it, so a lot of people aren't aware of it, but if you see it, you should try it!

I actually saw the graf girdle at my local pure hockey but they didnt have my size. I'm looking for a new girdle myself, def need an XL though. It's funny how they make the new girdles because I'm currently wearing a medium bauer MPB girdle and I'm a 38 waist.

Great..Now I'm confused about girdles..I'm told that I'm most likely an XL, but cant find any girdles anywhere..Everything is sold out or not in stock. I'm 6-2, 220lbs with a 38" waist...Is a XL going to be too loose? I prefer them to fit somewhat snug. Would I be able to get away with a size "L" if this guy is a 38" waist and wearing a medium?

I have that exact girdle, even ordered it fromo hockeyworld.com. I'm about 5'7 and 150-155 lbs and wear a men's 31" waist, it is kinda tight. The length honestly is just where I prefer it, about an inch and a half above the top of my knee cap.

I'll reluctantly admit it must only feel tight because of my growing beer gut :( I'f you're a slimmer person (in the abdomen area) you might get away with it.

I wear a 40 jean and im in an XL ONE90 girdle. The L or XL should be fine, since it's a wrap style. You can adjust the fit when you put it on. I don't have any experience with the easton/tackla/ccm girdles, but I love the ONE90.

i dont think many people have it (at least not around here), but the CCM girdle is awesome. it's cheap (for a girdle), and has true defenseman-worthy protection. i'm 6'0 160 lbs, wear 32/32 pants. i'm wearing a size medium... perfect.

I have been using the Graf girdle as well. Light weight with good protection. I have a 38" waist and am using a L. Not as much protection as the Tackla but a great buy in my opinion.

Is the Tackla girdle mentioned by some on this thread the Air 4000?

I currently have the 5000 xsr pants but looking for something less bulky but still protective, specifically in the tailbone.

The problem I had when I tried on the One90's is I'm not exactly the tallest guy out there so the shell that fit my body best felt a little long. when you see the tag it lists the xl as for someone around 5'10" I think

I'm only 5'8"
