Let's Play Hockey 2008

Vegas is out of the question. Most cant just take the time of in mid-season to go to Vegas for mostly BS. It's a waste of money and time. Just have a show in a hockey city, on the east coast where most folks can get in and get out, see the new gear and get back to work quick. This BS in Vegas is stupid. I will never go to a Vegas show. Toronto or Montreal is doable. I told the idiots who had the show in Detroit it was the location was the reason we were not going. Out of our range. They just don't get it. I don't view the hockey shows as a vacation, it's purely business to us. It's not a social gathering, jeeze just show us the new equipment and let us get back to work so we can pay our bills. Have a show in toronto and perhaps one in Minn. That will cover 90% of the hockey industry.

The St Paul show is for the general public? Is it something worth going to? The Mall of America is nearby, which by itself is enough to get my wife and daughter there, and then my son and I to the expo and high school tournament

I didn't have time to go to the tournament while I was working the booth, but my friend Kerry did. As a Canadian living in Toronto who saw the reaction to winning the Olympics and World Cup, he said he was really impressed with the passion of the players and fans at St. Paul.

I'm surprised the show still gets even this much attendance with most dealers seeing the new lines before they ever arrive in LV...

South Point is convenient to be there easily early in the morning, but the strip might be better in the evening since South Point is a little far from the nightlife.

The rooms at the South Point are very nice. Big, spacious and they have plasmas, if you happen to spend time in the room. The ride to the strip is 8-10 mins, since in Sept. they finally added an exit off of the freeway (I-15) right behind the casino. As for the guy staying in Hooters, at least MGM is across the street.

YEah, I stayed there last year. Contemplating bringing the Xbox360 for the plasma...

No, it was actually the morning. I landed about an hour before SRI did so I got acquainted with the Budweiser lounge.

Cabbie missed the exit, so he pulled on the shoulder and went in reverse for about 1/4 mile.

Doing South Point for the convenience factor.

Oh snap, me and Gomez at the show...ima hit you with a ham sammich.

Then I'll just have to hit you with chicken wings....or a hooter's girl

Gouche said he was told the Big Boys have pulled out. Anyone else hear that?

It would be disappointing if this was the case, but they aren't the reason I go to the show. I like seeing all the smaller companies products that I wouldn't see or hear about otherwise. I also like having an excuse to go out to Vegas every January.

On the topic of Vegas, anyone check the weather for the next couple days? WTF, high of 50 degrees. Better pack warm if you are going to walk the strip at nght.
