nhl-ers using shorter than average stcik lengths

You're absolutely right, that's why you're in charge of getting everyone in the NHL's height and where their stick comes up to them on skates. After you get that, then you can start working on the figures.

how is it a dumb question?

if an idea comes into somebody's mind and they want to know more, who has the right to judge whether the knowledge that person wants to gain is dumb?

if it is important to you, you're dumb not to do what you can to find more.

(no stupid questions, only stupid answers)

I'm sure that, like a lot when it comes to equipment, its personal preference. At the rink I play at and have taken classes there are 3 former pro players on staff. Every one of them suggests a shorter stick. One in fact, on the first day of stickhandling class had everyone hold their stick up and he came around with a sharpie and marked it. If your stick wasn't cut by the next class he cut it for you.

I'd find that to be very rude. I would've left.

Players could have 5 different sticks, all at different heights.

thats what i do, i have two different stick lengths that i switch between, one at my eyes on skates, and one at my lips. If i'm not feeling it for the first period, i go to the other length. I have 5 usable sticks, 2 long and 3 short.

True, I got Axleson's eastons after he jumped to warrior. He had both short and tall sticks, 6" difference.

man, do you have to attack everyone?

How is it an attack? It's almost a rhetorical question in the sense you're not going to conclude anything. You can't go solely on length because then you have to take lie into effect as well. I'm still wondering why the sky's blue though, so maybe we can tackle this one afterwards.

off topic, but it's not like this thread is going anywhere anyways...

Axelson is back on eastons now, he was sporting a sick looking yellow s17 tonight against the Islanders.

I had a power skater who always did that. Back then I didn't care though because they were just wood sticks.

You can't judge whether or not a stick is too long based on how high it comes up on the player. The proper place to chop it is a function of the length and lie. How does this cocky coach know that they are not all using 4's?

I dunno. Maybe his Stanley Cup ring and 40 years of playin' the game told him. Bottomline, though, every person in the class agreed that their stickhandling improved as a result.

Why the sky is blue

Now, what was that other stupid question you had?

I know Malkin uses a short stick. I think it's not that far off the length of Crosby's.

Because of the earth's atmosphere.
