Fury/Crocs Equipment Feedback

Recommended Posts

Has anybody used the Fury/Crocs equipment this season? I am interested in any thoughts on the OPS, gloves, and shin pads with the Crocs foam.

How's the blade stiffness?

That was my complaint of the last Fury blade I had, it was Kronik stiff. I'd rather have my shaft flex when I shoot, not the blade. The blade had amazing feel, with my flyweight the feel was better than my Pulse.

Went to their site and they have no pics or discriptions of the blade patterns. This is the shit that bugs the hell out of me. Anyone know or have info and pics of them???

I believe there was a topic on this recently. Just FYI.

Search worked fine for me. This is from Buzz's review.

Marleau: Most similar to a YP, but more open, 5-5.5 lie

21: Modano/P9 not a clone, 5 lie, more closed, like a SWD Bouchard

Gionta: Indescribable, 4-4.5 lie, short blade, open heel, like a Zhamnov or Khavanov

Primeau: Sakic/Gaborik cross, open mid curve

Williams: Lidstrom like, more gradual curve and less open

the shin guards look ok, but you need to wear something underneath them between the pad and your leg or the Croc lining will rip the hair off your legs.

I should be getting a Sidewinder from the rep later this week. I'll update this weekend.

These reviews of the patterns are very confusing to me. It's not that hard to recognize patterns, especially since the Fury sticks are made in the same factory as many others and use hard tooling. Has anybody seen the curves?

21 = Forsberg OR Modano/P9 not a clone, 5 lie, more closed, like a SWD Bouchard

Marleau = Iginla OR Most similar to a YP, but more open, 5-5.5 lie

Williams = Drury OR Lidstrom like, more gradual curve and less open

Gionta = Lids OR Indescribable, 4-4.5 lie, short blade, open heel, like a Zhamnov or Khavanov

Primeau = Sakic OR Sakic/Gaborik cross, open mid curve

They have Fury Diamondback sticks for $41.99 from 01/22/2008-01/29/2008 at www.hockeygiant.com.

Coupon Code: fury0122

From the above opinions I'd reckon this would be worth it?

I think this is my first post here. Up the Irons!

The Diamondback was a turd.

Had the crocs shins for a short period, very nice, comforable, good protection.

Gloves are some of the nicest ive seen in a while, on par with eagle comfort but mor protective.

The Diamondback blades had/have great puck feel. The Modano-ish blade could stand to be a bit stiffer.

Does anyone have anymore experience with the croslite gloves? Considering picking up a pair for the price they are now.

Did you ever pick up a pair of the shins?...If so how are they, bulky?

Can anyone that has worn these shins tell me if there is any truth to what's been said about the Crocs material ripping your leg hair out? I don't want to have to wear long pants under them if I decide to pick a pair up. Thanks!
