cxo 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2008 Oh how about Cuba Gooding Jr. as Denis Lemeiux ?Keanu Reeves gets my nod; he's already done the "French-Canadian tendy" thing once, right?Whoooa! No Keanu please...
ronnychencharik 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2008 I think the only thing that Carrell could do is Dickie Dunn (reporter)"I was trying to capture the spirit of the thing."
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted March 9, 2008 I'd rather teach Carrell how to act, he already knows how to skate. Same goes for Keanu!
Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2008 I bet some dudes from "Miracle" may be in this.Also...Hanson Bros. of the new Millenium...?
BigDipper 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2008 It will be one of those flicks where it will either be a complete beauty, or suck big time. Buddy from Miracle, I forgot which character he played, but he was also a gay cheerleader in Bring It On, he actually was a goalie in the Ontario Hockey League. Go figure. My nod is to throw Ryan Reynolds in there as Brayden.

Hooah4 12 Report post Posted March 10, 2008 If they throw Will Ferrell at us again in another "funny sports sendup" I think that'll kill it for me. Maybe he'd be a good Hanson brother.Carrell as the sports anchor would fit perfect.

Maybe he'd be a good Hanson brother.Carrell as the sports anchor would fit perfect.Something tells me that he'll just play a Hanson brother like every singel other character he plays. I've seen plenty enough Will Ferrell. I like the Ryan Reynolds idea really, he would make a good Brayden.

chippa13 1844 Report post Posted March 10, 2008 Denis Leary has game....he could play Dunlop.Sure, if they put Reg Dunlop on double runners.
mack 44 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 Leary's good at copying stuff so he should definitely be on-board.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 Since we're recasting the movie:Carrell as Jim Carr (the sportscaster)Kurt Russell as Reg Dunlop (assuming he can play)Leary as Mo or Johnny I can easily picture him in either rolePaul Newman as Joe McGrathNobody will ever do a better job as the goalie than Yvon, he was spot-on
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 Sharon Stone as the team owner? And you're right about Yvon. He nailed that part. They'd have to get an unknown French-Canadian to play him.
ultraman7k 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Speaking of Keanu he's up at my school this week filming his remake of the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still".I've never seen slapshot 2, but the consensus seems to be...don't.

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 I've mentioned it before, but during the All-Star game in Denver, that chimp was sitting in the first row at center ice.

Not a good movie for anyone's eyes.It wasn't that bad, but then again I rented MVP: Most Valuable PrimateYou actually rented that?!?A couple years ago I had to stay home from school (I was legitimately sick on this particular occasion) and ended-up sitting through H-E Double Hockey Sticks. That was brutal. First and last time I ever watched The Disney Channel.
hunterphfr 12 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 Setting Up a Second SLAP SHOTI guess it's understandable that they don't know about Slapshot 2, but who wants to tell them there's already a sequel (not that this is supposed to be one)?If done well this could be pretty good. It's not like Slapshot was a great movie, but it's still a cult classic. This could be very horrible and most of you would still buy it and watch it when you're drunk in the offseason. What was the last hockey movie? Miracle? What's an offseason? Rustpot 1 Report post Posted March 19, 2008 This could be very horrible and most of you would still buy it and watch it when you're drunk in the offseason. What's an offseason? The time when the season ends, no roller is in session and most of the local rinks melt or close to keep summer costs down. One of the bigger local rinks converts to a skate park April-October. srv2miker 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2008 It'd never be the same line - they don't have the freedom with language they did back then. They'll soften it up, and it'll suck balls.
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted March 21, 2008 I dunno. I think there's more swearing in movie's today than thirty years ago.Or are you referring to politically correct? There have been directors who push the envelope, with the Farrelly brothers coming to mind.
