MIA to Eagle

Recommended Posts

Well, I have the MIA MB-11 in a 14 inch right now and I love them, but the problem is I want to get custom gloves but don't really want to go with Warrior. Could anyone recommend an Eagle glove that is closest in fit to the MIA MB-11. Thanks.

NBH 4 rolls feel a lot like my eagles to me, difference I would say comes in the fingers longer in the 4 roll. In some ways the 4 rolls fingers are superior, flex thumb, liner, etc....

mb11 was their tighter fitting glove right?

X6 or x72, everything else is going to be much looser. X6 is a hair looser than a tps/easton glove. X72 is about the same fit but a bit tighter in the fingers.

Wait for the PPF glove from Eagle to come out in the spring. I wear a 13" mb22 and the PPF was just a little too big in the fingers for me so if your wear a 14" MIA, you should be good. Wicked nice glove too, softest i've ever felt. Might not be as tight as the mb11 but worth a look.

Yes, I am almost positive that the MB-11 was the tightest fitting MIA, TBL. So if I want another glove with the fit of the MB-11, will I have to stay with Warrior? I like the looks of the x72 with the msh2 palms. Have heard great things.

I'm wearing x72s right now and they're fantastic. I would say just as loose around the cuff as 70s but the mid hand and fingers are pretty snug. The great thing is, you can make 'em even tighter with the kangaroo pouches - great thinking on eagle's part

I havent tried on the MB11, so I cant say how close they will be... but the x72 is snug in the fingers and kind of vaporish in the palm. It then opens up at the cuff. Personally, coming from supreme 70s(my favorite fit) these are seamless, these aren't loose by any means. BUT the cuff is extremely short, the x72 is a 14" glove in fit, 13 maybe 13.5" in size.

The X6 is based on the X50 fit, which is almost dead on with Easton/TPS. If you can, try them on.

Honestly, since I've gotten my Eagles everything else feels restrictive and uncomfortable. I recommend against the single layer palm, once you start getting used to it, you'll never want to go back... Although in 4 icetimes so far, I dont have more than a little bit of tape residue on the palms, normally I would have a bit of fraying.

Could you elaborate on the "kangaroo pouches"?

Inside the glove there is a foam liner that has a "pouch" this pouch can hold foam(which needs to be requested beforehand).

TBL, if I went against your recommendations and got the single layer palm, and it got a hole or something, would Eagle replace it for free. I know that they have great customer service from guys on this board like yourself.

NO. The single layer palm is NOT covered under warranty.

But the double layer would be?

Yes, it surely is.

Honestly, I now have a single layer and a double layer MSH2 palm... Before I used the single layer I PROMISE I would love the double layer, now... It's just too thick for my liking. I think the single layer will hold up fine for me. But It's like a double edged sword; yes, I love it BUT that kind of limits what gloves I can get, or at least what palms.

you could always go retail, and find some colours you want, if you want tight fitting id go with NBH one90's, ewh has em in pro stock colours, and many other retailers have them in a variety of colours, u'd save yourself some money.

Nope, much better. Those are basically what my custom gloves are minus the graphics, palm and custom length. Hands down the best glove you will ever use. You might have to contact eagle for the foam for the kangaroo pouch. With the foam, not only do you get added protection but you have 4 options of fit(not counting using foam for the thumb).

I tried the Eagle PPF's (black color scheme with a little white on it, weird outer material) on at a lhs 2 weeks ago, thought they were retail now, but probably just a sample I guess...

They made me feel like making sweet sweet love.

Got these a couple months ago as a total impulse buy after trying them on in-store:

While this is up in the air..

TBL what eagle glove fits like a NB 4 roll. seeing that your the glove expert here ;)

Pretty much anything thats not x6, x50 or x72 or their variants will be close in looseness. But that's like comparing a miata to a ferrari.

If you like the mb11 why not still get them from warrior it is the same glove made in the same factory, i had one pair from MIA bought a year ago palms died (getting them repalmed) and just bought a pair from mia/warrior again it is identical except for the logos.

Ask Fletch about the standard, double-layer MSH2 palm. He had it on his hands yesterday.

Amazing feeling palm. I was trying to explain it to my buddy and I told him it felt so supple, like how a palm would feel after it had just been used on ice for 2 hours, except it was brand new and never used once. Very, very impressive.

P.S. I only have about 4-6 hours on my single layer palm but there's no sign of useage besides some tape residue. I just scraped it off with my fingernail.

Man, the dual layer felt thin enough, I can't even imagine how single must feel.
