Graf Problems Already

Recommended Posts

Got the Graf's in the mail this morning(supra g3) Went to work and skated on them from 3-4 and was pleasantly surprised that they were amazingly comfortable, hurt my toes a little though seeing as 8.5(i'm a usual 9). Anyways I worked and then skated with my usual tues night group at 9 and wow they hurt so bad. I have no idea why it changed on me but after 1hr 30min skate, both feet were numb from the base of my toes(2 inches below) all the way to my toes and my toes were a little blue.

I feel like...

a. bake them

b. widen them(stretcher)

c. lengthen them (stretcher)

Should I sell these and get them in 9W?

... as I continue on for the perfect skate...

thanks guys, i really appreciate it.

PICS(links, since they are feet)

Your toes are popping off the end, it simply looks too short. Why did you buy a half size smaller than you usually buy?

Well the price was right and I couldn't find them anywhere else in 9's. So i settled. Big mistake.

Does anybody think these are too narrow.

they are 8.5R

I may get 9W

I would sell these, a half size is about 4mm I think. It looks like even a 4mm increase might not be enough.

9 easton fit me fine. So I think that 9 graf would be okay as well. I think there too narrow for my foot in the front as well.

I recently bought a pair of G5s and had similar problems. It could be a few things - skates might be too narrow, short - but I found the real problem was that the Graf insoles that came with the skates were complete crap (paper thin, so your forefoot gets no support and consequently there is a lot of pressure in a few spots on your foot; additionally, you could feel the rivets through the insoles). I baked mine twice (with a few skates in between) and put in a pair of shock doctor insoles (highly reccomended). After that, they are like wearing bedroom slippers - no problems whatsoever.

Oh, and experiment with how tight you pull the laces. That can make a big difference - I leave them pretty loose towards the toes, and pull them fairly tight mid-way up the skate.

HOLY HELL, it looks like you need more than just a half size up!!! 9.5 would be more like it....I'm 7.5R in easton synergy's but I sized up to 8R in grafs. I probably could fit 7.5R but the toecap would bite into the sides of my toes. I had a pair of 7R graf 703s and those things were hell to skate in as well. Your pain is all too familiar to me.

You have to get grafs in the right size for you or that toecap will kill you.

Not a very forgiving area of the skate, that's for sure. My 703's beat the hell out of my feet, especially the toe cap.

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet. Grafs vary in width depending on the model.

SELL SELL SELL

as stated above, the skates appear to be far to small for your foot. I really want a pair of ultra g9's but can't find anything anywhere to try on. I've never owned graf and have no idea how my 7.5ee in a one90 would translate

seeing as you have skated in them, twice is it, your lhs wouldnt let you return them, seeing as you would be exchanging them for a larger size? unless there are very few lhs that operate the way mine does.

Those are way too small for your foot. No matter how good of a deal you could of gotten you should have definitely gone to your local hockey shop to get sized up. The way your foot hangs over the footbed it looks like you could go anywhere from 1/2-1 size up and you could definitely use a wide. You should not sacrifice the feel for a good price. I would sell them if I were you. Good luck. Keep us posted.

The 703 and "3" series skates are narrower than the 705\G5 and 709 etc series. I think the entire "3" series skate does not fit your foot. If you are going to buy Graf...educate yourself on which boot (try them on) fits you best. If you cant find a shop that has them..dont buy them otherwise the trial and error process can get expensive.

the heel itself was great and that's why I asked what about the "35" series. I don't have a graf dealer close to me and I can't make any other skate work good.
