Race4LastPlace 31 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 The end cap is necessary for some of you that don't tape up the butt-end?for me, i just cant stand the feel. It feels totally different to me to have an open end, or even a plug (extension). I tried just taping over the hole, but nothing other than a cap feels "right" in my hands.Okay. And most people with a cap probably use a shorter stick? I have to throw a wood plug in most of my shafts to gain an extra couples inches.Yeah i usually cut about 2 inches off maybe a little more, depends on the stick/flex. I'm 6' and i like my stick to come just a little above my chin (skates off)

TBLfan 25 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 Anyone else have an issue with raised-logo end caps? I can't stand the new Easton caps and I think Warrior has a version that is similar. Here's a pic: Left, ok. Right, not-so-much.I am in need of some caps(senior) that sit flat, anyone have some sitting around?
mack 44 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 I've had Warriors with that kind of cap and I agree that they're problematic. I have to put extensions in but their caps didn't fit well and the ones that did could still be pried out with fingertips.
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 TPS caps are probably the worst. They come wrapped with a bunch of tape and they're still loose. The new Eastons take the jaws of life to remove!I can't stand the feel of flush-cut wood plugs either. :(

Chadd 916 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 I have a few but almost all of them are TPS. I'll dig around the shop tomorrow night and see if I can find the others.
McDougalfaschnitzer 32 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 I can't stand the feel of flush-cut wood plugs either. :(I was used to the plastic caps but I put a wood plug in my one95 and I just sanded it to feel better in my palm. I also sanded the side to match the outline of the shaft.
IniNew 53 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 I've had Warriors with that kind of cap and I agree that they're problematic. I have to put extensions in but their caps didn't fit well and the ones that did could still be pried out with fingertips. My warrior end cap had a green oval with the circle in it that was raised like that Easton one. And I agree with Mack, I actually left the warrior in and lost it fell out somewhere between me putting a blade in the stick and my trip to the rink.
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 Yeah, that's the way my warriors were. Similar to the Easton on the left. I tape over the plug so the slight looseness isn't a problem. I have one in my S17 but me-being-me... I pulled off the warrior logo since it was going in an Easton. Now the little oval bothers me. hahaI can't stand the feel of flush-cut wood plugs either. :(I was used to the plastic caps but I put a wood plug in my one95 and I just sanded it to feel better in my palm. I also sanded the side to match the outline of the shaft.I've tried that but I could never really decide what I wanted to do with it... and it's a pain in the ass. Thanks guys. :)

sarmalidu 1 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 My solution to this issue is to either sand the butt cap down or to tape a little beyond the end of the shaft and fold the tape down like you would with the sides of a christmas present. The tape over the cap flattens things out and makes it more uniform
Too Old 1 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Use 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive to hold them in and just tape over the end both directions before you do the knob at the end. Simple. :)
SpartanHOCKEY12 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2009 I absolutely hated the s17 end caps so i just ended taking it off, the se16 has a regular end piece
