"Newschool" Visor on a CCM HT2 helmet?

Recommended Posts

So, my neighbor called me that he just found my old (almost spankin new) HT2 helmet in his basement, which i borrowed him around 10 years ago. Back then we played inline hockey in the car-house and he wasnt a hockeyplayer so i gave him some of my stuff.

Anyways, i want to add a cage on my current Intake, but i need a second helmet for my visor. So i got the idea to mount the Itech HS22 (straight) on the old HT2 helmet.

I'd try it on my own, but my buddy went on a workshop and i cant get my hands on this helmet, i want to know it from you guys.

Thanks.

Expect the visor to sit "high" on your face, due to the mounting screw positions on the old HT2.

I once had a Oakley Pro Modified on a HT2 and It gave shitty protection + was annoying since the buttom of my visor interefered with my sightline.

I see. Do you have a pic? Or is there any NHL player who rocks an HT2 and has a newish visor? I'd check Getty then.

You sure the foam is going to be good after 10 years of sitting? I know some guys still rocking old Cooper buckets and I've looked at them and can't get the foam to squish at all- not very safe eh?

My dad tried to get me to use his old CCM bucket from the 80's, good thing it was too small and he stopped bugging me about it.

Patty Marleau

I got a teammate that has the same setup too. Visor does seem to sit a bit higher, but no reason why you couldn't aim it a bit lower though.

I'm currently using a CCM HT2 helmet with an Oakley Pro Modified Visor. When I first mounted it, the visor was a bit wider than the helmet so I could only fit three screws on the sides of the helmet. The remaining screw holes on the visor and helmet didn't line up so I couldn't put the final one in. I took it to my LHS and they had to put those white plastic spacers in to make the visor fit properly. I'm not sure if this is going to be the same with your Itech.

Here's the only pic I have of my helmet with the visor mounted. If you want to see more pics let me know!

The perspective, or angle (or something) in the second & third pics looks like a totally different cut on that Visor...it looks almost as big as what Heatley uses.

HT2 with an Itech RBE is a timeless setup.

maybe it's just me but i think the itech RBE is the ugliest visor set up.. more so than heatley's.

it's on my list of ugliest visors right up there with the oakley pro vented aviator and the itech vented.
