Pro Equipment Sales

Recommended Posts

That blows. I was looking forward to going up and checking out the sale. I really wanted a set of Canucks pants.

They'll still have pants if they end up having a sale this year. It's the skates, stick, and glove selection has been heavily picked over. In recent years most of the pants have been really beat up for $25-$50 depending on condition. I tried on a pair of H. Sedin RBK pants last year and they had a huge hole on the ass (don't ask) and made my jeans stink like shit for the rest of the day. New ones run $75 but they're scarce and will only fit you if you're at least a 36 waist. Your alternative is to pick up a shell for $30. I picked up a brand new Naslund shell for someone at the last sale... the others were all pretty used but selling at the same price.

I'm trying to persuade the Game Day guy to work out a deal if I purchase in large quantities of sticks and gloves. I told him my friends and I would be interested in helping him clear out some gear if he offers equipment sale prices so they can try to cut their losses. He's not budging at all but maybe further down the road he'll reconsider. We can get a local group-buy going on if he decides to, which I still highly doubt will happen at this point.

There's still going to be some sticks available... but in very limited quantities. The team moved some gear from earlier in the season (probably from pre-season to Christmas time) out of their storage locker at GM Place to an off site location, so hopefully that hasn't been picked over by Game Day.

Edit: never mind looks like Game Days purchased some pants too. They had Mitchell's (unbranded NBH) and Johnson's (Easton) pants for auction today... which nobody bid on.

Well, I suppose it's safe to say, but all Tampa Bay Lightning prostock equipment runs through me. Available year-round, no minimums. Email is jboucicaut@tampabaylightning.com, we have an inventory list we keep current daily.

Can you share some prices? Or is it on a 'per inquiry' basis?

Are there plans for some kind of web-based shop?

^^^That is utter and complete bullshit.

Some things I have like about Acquilini acquiring the Nucks, some things I don't.

The Canucks should do this only if the proceeds are going to Canuck Place (Where the proceeds used to go)

This stuff should be made available to the guys and kids that love and play this game, not be made available to rich and famous to hang on the wall as memorabilia.

disgusted.

Typical Slumlord type ownership, whore yourself out for the highest dollar. :

Actually from a business standpoint it makes a lot of sense. The team makes one sale and doesn't have to spend the time and energy setting up the team sale. Most of the team sales I read about here turn into a couple guys taking everything that can carry and selling 90% of it on ebay or CL and pocketing a lot of cash for themselves. These sales never should have been an avenue for people to buy things for below retail either, so that doesn't wash either.

Chadd is spot-on in this instance. Obviously, I'm living it, but yeah, too much stuff never should've gone out the back door and given someone an opportunity to resell. What that does is devalue the equipment, and those resellers are able to make what the team could've made if the team just made a bit of research. A lot of teams don't really understand what they have. I'm not saying that you have to fleece potential buyers, but pretty much every pro-stock sale is a loss. It's all about minimizing the loss.

JR, is your inventory of pro stock equipment all brand new, all used or a mixture of both? Are helmets also a part of that inventory? (I notice certain teams don't sell helmets due to liability issues.) If it's yes to either then I will likely talk to you via email very soon. Thanks in advance.

I will not be answering any questions on MSH. I told you where to contact me.

However, I will say that I do not have any EDGE anything. Maybe after end of season.

Your best bet is going to be to keep an eye on ebay.

The Flyers sell all of the players gear on a 'Name' structure. Obviously, the player with more popularity is going to cost more to buy their stuff. It's actually laughable the way the Flyers price their stuff. Ben Eager's leftover NBH sticks were selling for $225. Because, we all know what a superstar Ben Eager is. Lasse Kukkonen's practice used Montreal sticks were selling for a steal at $175. :D

Expect to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a pair of Gagne's gloves. There was a game used pair at the Skatezone (in NJ) awhile back for $300. You'd be better served buying a pair off the rack, and having someone stitch Gagne's name in them. Same difference anyway.

and the award for most repititve response in a thread goes to this one. ONE MORE TIME. CONTACT/LOOK at your local teams web page. The Caps are real good about posting theirs on the website. Last year it was on fan appreciation day. YOUR teams date might be different.

I know someone in the Caps locker room who I ask all the time, ya know what his response is" SABA it will be on the website I'll know when you know."

I will be conducting another Lightning Equipment Sale on Monday May 11th to coincide with the Town Hall Meeting we are hosting.

I will be sorting through our new inventory on Monday - and if I get it all done in a timely manner I can redistribute the list to those who have inquired (your names are on a list) and MSHers can get first crack at it before the sale - as long as the transaction is conducted BEFORE the 11th. Please do not ask me what I have, because I am not sure yet and will find out when I get there.

JR,

I just wanted to make sure so I don't miss out. Is anyone who have inquired before about some equipment in general are you a list or is the list for people who have inquired specifically to ask if you are going to have a equipment sale?

Thanks.

Edit: I repeated some stuff couple of times.

Anyone who has sent me an email to my TBL account asking for my current inventory is on a list.

Anyone have any dates for the Stars sale?

Perhaps Drewhunz can ring in here.

Date will be released next week.

FYI- Sale will be held in the players parking garage, so be ready to be uncomfortably hot.
