FURY is not going away

Recommended Posts

Heard through the grapevine that Keith and Scott along with a few others are buying it back from CROCS. Good news as I have been impressed with their stuff.

Heard it right from Scott today. Doesn't sound like the system CROCS set up to distribute the gear worked or is working well so this can only be a good thing for FURY if they can get the business they need to make this work.

Answer me this then - spent all that time marketing Croslite - what happens now? Do they pay Crocs to license the name/material? Might be more money than where Fury stands in the marketplace right now.

Crocs are available in all of the sports chains (Dunham's, Dick's, SA, probably more), I always wondered why the small amount of hockey gear didn't include some Fury to help brand exposure.

I can't really find anything about this on the internet, but I think the Fury site is down. Can anyone confirm or add to this info?

www.furysport.com does not work!

Seeing that it's not exactly a huge brand I wouldn't expect too much press. I mean, Nike selling Bauer wasn't exactly a CNBC headline and they are one of the top manufacturers.

It was a headline on CNN.

I noticed that Fury had some upper end shin guards for sale and a few sticks, but other than that..I havent seen a whole lot of Fury hockey gear. I did pick up a couple Fury bags at HockeyGiant for $19.99..Pretty good deal I think.. Got a black one for hockey and a bright orange one for hunting trips...$20 is a steal for such a quality bag.

The problem is simply that people don't buy it. We had a lot of their stuff when we opened and it was almost impossible to move it. I like a lot of their gear, but it just doesn't sell no matter how hard you try.

I've had a similar experience. A lot of people don't view Crocs in the highest regard to begin with so once they find out that it's the same material as Crocs they get turned off. Plus, with the shin-pads you need to wear under-armor because the Cros-Lite rips the hair off your legs so it almost defeats the purpose of having it be anti-microbial.

Their sticks had a boxy feel to them as well. Not great sellers at all.

I actually like the croslite idea for shins and elbows and I'd love to find a deal on a pair of each. I think the gloves feel strange at best. The pants and original gloves were pretty good and the feel of the original blades was nice as well. Most people just aren't willing to give a new name much of a chance.
