Going to an NHL game..

I'm going to my second NHL game. First time was back in '99 or so. Tommy Salo was still with the Oilers, so that gives you an indication of how long ago.

It's at the MTS Centre with Calgary and Phoenix, obviously just an exhibition game.

I'm just wondering what is the earliest possible time I'm able to get in? I'd like to be able to watch warm ups and what not. Also, after the game, am I able to see any interviews or see any of the players?

Basically, I just want to get the most out of it as possible.

In Dallas, you can get in 1.5 hours before the game. 99% of the interviews are done in the tunnels and in the bowels of the arena, so nothing to see there.

Also, another question. Calgary plays 3 games in a row. I noticed that first it's a home-game, then Winnipeg, then a home game again. Does this most likely mean that I won't see most of the top players? Like Iginla, Phaneuf, etc.???

During pre-season games, your established stars don't play the whole game.

However, in a neutral site game as this is going to be, I'm pretty sure they will be there.

Im not sure how it is for every team, but for the Devils, if you stay long enough after the games you can get autographs and meeet the players on their way...in the parking lots and such.

ive been to all the nhl games in winnpeg since the jets left and plan on going to this one too.......some of the star guys play.. some dont a couple yrs ago when vancouver came bertuzzi played a bit and i beleive both sedins played too... it depends... and yah these guys have all got there times right as to when warmups start and stuff

Depends how the team decides to break up the squad. You usually see about 1/2 to 2/3 of the cemented players in each preseason game.

In cases like this the stars usually don't make the trip, but third and fourth line guys are the veterans who play the road game.

usually teams will allow you to watch the warmups right next to the glass no matter where your assigned seat is, so bring a camera and get some good shots. thats the way it is in DC at least...
