Name on stick

Recommended Posts

I've got a few sticks with a blank name on the shaft. I want to put my nickname in the blank area where the name should be. What have you guys done with success to achieve this?

I've looked into dry transfer sheets but they rub off and die cut decals but they look pretty wack.

Use a label maker with some clear labels.

well if its a blank name plate why not use just a sharpie or permanent marker to put your name on it?

+1 for the sharpie. You could always just write your name in sharpie on a strip of white tape so you can easily peel it off if need be.

I went to this guy a few years ago.

$5 bucks, gave them my last name, font type and the length and height I needed and week later, I had a stamp with my name on it. Just be sure you use permanent ink and if there's stick-um on your stick, you will have to sand a little of it off...

This would probably be the most professional looking route. Another option would be to go to a craft store and get some letter stencils in the proper size, then just use a Sharpie marker (I'd suggest the industrial one b/c the ink is stronger). I've never done it that way but I'd assume it would come out ok, just a matter of lining up the letters nicely.

If you know anyone in the military you can have them pick up a "clothing marking kit" from the PX for a couple bucks. A quick google search turned up Rangers Joes for 11 bucks.

http://www.rangerjoes.com/uniform-marking-kit-p-4055.html

The kit comes with rubber letters and numbers you stick on the stamp. I have my original set from 1996 that I still use. Comes with 2 rails and white and black ink, you can make up two different names or number combos. When you stamp the stick, it looks like the original old school stamps of the wooden days.

Hope this helps.
