Rbk 8.0.8 Stick Demo

Just received this little demo present in the mail today :)

I've never been a big Rbk fan, flex seems to be a little stiffer then the Easton 100 flex im use to using. I'll have to wait a few days till i get out on the ice and try it out.

Datsyuk, wish they offered the demo in the Crosby or whatever they have that is closest to the Sakic pattern but i guess beggers cant be choosers. I'll take a free stick any day of the week.

is griptonite supposed to be a fancy way of saying grip? or is it different than a traditional grip stick?

The griptonite is definitely tackier then their old grip coating. I used a 9k0 last year that had a grip coating and my hands were slipping up and down it. The 8.0.8 has enough grip where your hands stay in place but can move if you need them to.

Got mine today, too. CTHockey, I actually got the Crosby pattern. As a loyal Drury and other clone user, I wish they had the P36 Spezza available. I don't get to try it out until tomorrow night. I got mine through the Reebok seeding program where one demo stick is given to certain retailers. While I can't compare the grip to that of the 9k0 last year, it is a tacky style grip as opposed to a rubbery or textured grip.

How does it look like the blade was joined with the shaft? Fused together, or built in the woodstick fashion (which I would doubt seeing as the 9k0 was a shaft and blade setup)? It would be interesting if blades could be pulled on these like I heard you could on the 9k0.

When i ordered mine through the seeding program i was only given the choice between Datsyuk and Phaneuf... How did you get the CrosbY???

When I ordered mine the only choices were Datsyuk and Crosby, no Phaneuf. I would have gotten the Phaneuf if I knew it was available. Oh well, it's still a free stick that doesn't come out for months.

I only had a choice between Datsyuk and Hamrlik. I would have taken it if there was Phanuef but passed it along to another employee since there was no heel curve. Oh well, not a reebok fan anyway. :)

will confirm that the blade can be removed from 9ko. did one and couldn't not stand the shaft.

Nice looking stick. There's more curve on that Crosby pattern than what I had originally imagined when reviewing the Crosby pattern specs.

I wouldnt mind trying one out, but it would have to be the right flex, and of course be able to pull the blade. I wonder if they just used a new type of epoxy on the tennon, or they mean that they made a hole when making the shaft that they inserted the holes into, unlike the 9k0, which looked to have the "0" part made and attached to the upper portion of the shaft.

ye they fuse it then put another layer(s?) of graphite or whatever over that so its sorta a true OPS is anyone cares...i'd love to get my hands on one of these...some say it kicks just like the 10k, not sure if i believe that but i would love to ^^

Im not a fan of the blade either... and mine is already cracked :(

But ive been using it for a few months and its a pro stock.

I actually really like mine. I got the 35 Flex and thought I made a huge mistake but the snap shots are just silly.. and slappers take a little to figure out were the bottom hand has to go.

Overall 8 out of 10 so far
