Stick Help Please

Recommended Posts

Anyways what does that have to do with the weight?

Absolutely nothing. If the couple of grams weight difference between ANY of the sticks mentioned in this thread is too big for you then I'd advise spending your money on a gym membership instead.

wow...after painfully reading this thread, they're are a lot of jerks on this forum who like to pick apart sentences and provide non-helpful counterproductive responses. You all know what the kid wants...just give it to him...your 2 cents...

Here goes...

I had an S17 and the blade died quite fast...excellent shooting stick from a purely performance aspect. Weight and balance was great but the durability on the blade wasn't there.

Had a Vapor XXXX and didn't quite like it. Just didn't have the kick that some other sticks had and felt a tad bit heavy. One positive was that I liked the blade for puck feel. From the general consensus, they're not all that durable either.

Haven't tried a 10K but from what I hear, they're quite light and have great balance and feel. Durability is still a questionmark since they haven't quite hit retail (I'm sure some retailers by now somehow have their hands on a few).

SE16 much like the S17 is a great shooting stick, but the durability factor just isn't quite there...

From reading multiple posts on the One95, it seems to be the stick of choice. If you're looking for a super light stick, this isn't quite for you but shot release blade feel and overall durability are definitely there. I shot around with a friend's during warmups (I'll get 2 million comments from other retards that will tell me that 10 minutes with a stick isn't long enough to compare anything. Eventually you'll adapt to a stick if you really have to and I've found in many cases, if I give the stick a few weeks, it'll grow on me and what the stick so-called lacks will be somewhat negligible...maybe it's the shooter...not the stick...) and initially balance and puck feel were great. Shot release on wristers and snap didn't quite compare to the S17, but it wasn't bad by any means...clappers are where this stick shines.

That being said, if you've already tried the One95 and like the Nitro better, then I suggest going with the Nitro...

As for the fused vs. non-fused, I don't really think anyone can tell the difference. Bottom line, it's all marketing BS anyways...just use the stick...

Its not going to make a big difference but I was curious on the weight difference!

Thx snip1per, you hit the nail on the head. The main reason im not sure about the montreal is there not making it any more.

Just got an ONE95 - will be using it tomorrow.

ID or retail?

Straight retail, PM9 87 flex non-grip.

Let us know how it works out for you.

I dont think the kid would want to show up at the rink with an S9. He wants all top of the line sticks. He's probably at that age ya know..

Easton's top of the line sticks work great for NHL players with unlimited access to sticks etc..but for the rest of us..I'm not so sure. Just an opinion of mine. Those of us who arent paid to play hockey have to compromise a bit and get the most for our dollar/peso/euro.

Nothing wrong with S9, S11 or any other lower model sticks and honestly I dont think a top of the line stick will help me or anyone else play any better. If your good you can play with a 25$ wood stick. BUT I like the way top of the line sticks feel, much better in my hands, lighter more balanced more feel. Im not a kid hence I have job that lets me afford a top of line stick

I've been using the One95 for the last little while, and I'm on my 4th one, as two were warrantied. Beautiful sticks, love the blade compared to the hard feeling with the easton sticks. I've also used he Montreal Nitro Lites and although they broke in an average of like 3 weeks, they were probably the best feeling sticks in terms of the blade and just shooting, its just the durability was brutal. I also used some Mission Fuel Ti's and I loved their blade, thats why I bought the One95 because it had the same type of material on the blade.

I have used Montreal Nitro Lite (1) and Force(4). I loved them both. Relly liked the feel in the blade and that you could get a very whipy stick in senior. I haven't had any durability problems with the nitros. I broke the lite when I was going to take a puck coming along the board when I got a push in the back so i broke the blade. I have had four force this season (july->today) two are still coing strong. one broke áfter I got huge slash on the shaft and the second one split up in the heel after ~2 months of use.

Have moved one to Dolo shafts now beacuse I wanted something with a stiffer flex but I do frecuently recomend it to other people. I have nothing but positve feedback about Montreal sticks.

I just massacre my sticks. I take so many slapshots and really pound the stick to the ice, giving me a great shot but brutal durability. I've yet to have a stick in the last while that has lasted me very long, so on't use my standards and think it'll happen to you, unless you do the same lol.

I kill sticks and the best performing/best feeling stick to date has been the One95 for me at least. I would HIGHLY suggest that stick to anyone!

Are your wristers and snap shots as good with the one95 compaired the the eastons???

My wristers and snappers are great with my 3 shaft/blade One95 combos.

I have a lethal snapper/wrister with my 77 flex shaft and P92 blade..Just a laser

I usually use a much higher flex when I'm back on "d" though.

The CNT Stealth I have is heavier than my One95 shaft/blade combo

I am a strong supporter of montreal sticks. too bad they are no longer.

I talked with the President of Sales (I believe that's his position) of Montreal Canada, and he said that Warrior has done nothing as of yet to stop Montreal sticks from being made. The plants are still running.
