Why doesn't Reebok sell Euro Jofa Products in North America?

Recommended Posts

I own 2 Jofa 690 helmets if anyone wants one. I see a lot more Jofa protective than helmets, but you'll see a guy or two wearing a jofa helmet every game.

epstud, what size and color are they?

as an aside, I think a VN version of the 5k might sell here better, maybe

don't the reebok 5k's all come with white earloops too? all of them that Ive seen on youtube videos of euro pro teams have white earloops

I wish I still had my 690 helmet. One of the most comfortable helmets I ever owned and as protective as any on the market. If I could get a newly produced model I'd grab it and dump my other lids pronto.

we need to set up a pipeline of Reebok 5k's to North America via MSH, lol

as an aside, I think they look better with ad's on them, It takes the focus away from some of the weird lines on it

Both are size "M" The royal blue helmet is unworn and new without tags. I just recently put the VN foam on them as they came unattached in the box.

The black is used but in greats shape. Both are very light helmets.

Jofa 690: Light, well ventilated and incredibly protective. Did I mention comfortable too?

Particularly if you have a big head like mine :-)

I wish there were an easy way to order from Europe. Or directly from RBK here.

Regarding the looks... This is one thing I never understood. A helmet needs to be protective first and foremost. People buying helmets because they "look good" IMHO are insane.

Once I tested the cascade and the RBK 8 or 9K in the store. Even the employee at the store pointed at how flexible both were. (Yeah, I know the cascade is "ugly").

Now go to a general sports store and check the football, baseball or lacrosse helmets. They are all very hard. Why?

Do you need more protection on those sports?

They are also round (like motorcycle helmets are) because they deflect impacts better. You could also argue that a round helmet is better balanced on your head.

Before anyone offers the argument that all the helmets are CSA and HECC certified, please let me tell you that those certifications are based on tests that I still don't understand how they relate to hockey. Things like dropping a metal ball on them. But I'm getting off topic here :-)

Bottom line here: If anybody wants to start a petition to RBK to sell the 5K here, please sign me in :-)

Although thats true about the spherical shape, the creases/lines you see in helmets do that same sort of thing.. like the way a coke can will support your weight (atleast for a while) if you stand on top of it.

It is true that the lines on the helmets give them some rigidity but this is not symmetrical. When pressing on certain direction, a particular helmet can be very rigid but when pressing on another direction, the same helmet can be quite flexible.

Like a can of Coke :-)

Thank you for the tip regarding the Hockey Outlet. Unfortunately they are mediums and I need a large :-(
