Crosby's pro curve

Recommended Posts

That's exactly what my local Pure Hockey had in stock... not sure if they were rejects or something... I almost grabbed one for the sake of trying out, but the lie looked a lil' low for me.

I'd need an 85" stick to use that. RH-ness would be fine.

The lie doesn't look far off from the Steve Sullivan pro stocks that I used for a while. Great curve but he switched to SW and Whip before his back injury.

It looks sub-5 which is low for me. Recchis at 5.25(my estimate) have me using about a 60" stick, I feel like it is a mile long.

I did take a recchi wood blade and flattened out the curve to nearly straight, have yet to try it though... once this redlite comes in, I might have to give it a go.

What curve? At that point he should just go with a completely straight blade. I wonder if he's ever tried that?

Nice to see that the pros have to add tape to the tenon to get them to fit in their shafts too, assuming that nobody has tried to fit it in another shaft after Crosby was done with it.

With as many pro returns there are, I'm sure people use them. This is probably the 4th of these threads and I know one person responded with him using them.

If I was a pro I would want a real tight fit, I certainly wouldn't want any bit of movement/looseness.

The guy who owned Crosby's game used equipment also had one of his game used stick's. Seemed a bit on the heavy side to me, I was going to flex it to see how stiff it was but when he said he was trying to sell it for $1200 CDN. I decided to use better judgement and just hand it back to him.

I got a couple Easton Syn II woodies that were pretty much flat like that, and I had to add some curve. They were just way too straight and I couldn't get as much zip on my shots.

Why can't he be right handed, I would love a blade like that.

I know right? I like that curve. It kind of looks like the Boyes curve on the Mission sticks imo

Not even remotely close to Boyes

I can't imagine how he can dangle with that blade. I wonder if he gets at least a bit more curve, if he can put the puck in the net a bit more.

Thats the wierd thing, he gets 30-35 goals and 70 assists, and all I hear is that he needs a scoring winger. Somebody scored those 70 goals, and considering Hossa only scored 41 goals playing with datsyuk this year, can we really expect that much more playing with crosby?

I don't think you'll ever see Crosby switch blade patterns. He is still using SWD woody blades, his huge sponsor in Reebok couldn't even get him to switch (although they allowed a logo-less blade). I'd be surprised to even see him switch to a OPS in his career. I've also stated that I am betting his shafts are just repainted Sher-Woods, which apparently is the same OEM. Crosby is the anti-gear whore, there is a segment on the Crosby DVD with Dana Heinze (the Pens equipment manager) about the condition of Sid's gear. It is all patched together and sewn up and apparently reeks to high heaven.

Well when you get a hat trick in one game with a combined shot distance of 20 feet, there's your answer. Meanwhile, Ovechkin scores from the top of the circles with his wicked curve and deceptive shot.

my friend had a crosby pro stock shaft(momentum) and the flex was labeled 110, not to montion how short it was cut. its amazing he gets anything on his wrist/snap shots

Crosby's stick is completely made by Reebok. That's been the case for some time now.
