wow, after playing the demo, im not sure if im that excited about nhl 10, the skating engine is wierd, you feel like you are gliding around, the passes are soft and short...

hopefully this is not close to the final product...

With the precision passing thing on, you have to charge your passes. I'm not so keen on having to take the tme to charge them. If you just tap it like 09, that's why your passes are weak. Skating feels the same as 09 to me.

Maybe you were on hardcore mode? The different modes make the game either more of a simulation or arcade (like the previous versions) depending on how you want to play.

Ranked matches online are in normal mode.

Personally I love it. I think it feels so much more real.

hardcore is wack to me, good thing online will be normal...

i dont know, right now i feel like 09 allows you to bew more aggressive with the puck, will see wen the full game is out...

ps3 got 09 sooner, xbox got 10 sooner.

The game itself is alright tho. gonna take some getting used to. Seems slower almost. Played as detroit in the cup game and it was like i couldnt miss with slappers over Fleury's opposite shoulder. Hopefully that wont continue...

The game is definitely sweet, especially on hardcore mode. Actually lost the puck on a turn. Looks like they got rid of the one hand dekes kind of a bummer. The after the whistle stuff is cool, I drew a couple of penalties and actually got a penalty for poke checking the goalie after the whistle. I like chasing the ref after hitting a guy after the whistle. Oh well, a little over 4 weeks to go.

how long is the demo? Is it a 1 minute periods like madden, or what?

if you listen the shots sound so much more realistic and the boardplay is cool. i love the fighting, needs to be harder tho.

Yeah the fighting is definitely too easy. All you have to do is pull on his jersey then pump him.

also, everything like stick lift and poke check are way less effective, honestly, they could of took out the cheap goals and fixed the one timer bug and slapped the nhl 10 logo on and id be happy....

i will be keeping my 09 copy thats for sure...

Its just a demo guys. its to promote the game, not to be critiqued by us hardcore hockey junkies. Wait till the full game and judge.

But while we're on the subject.. theres no fans when your fighting in the demo. lol

Im pretty sure I didn't say that shot sounds make the game better. And I have no idea what you mean when you say it looks like a cartoon.

color me unimpressed. It's 09 with some tweaks. not a must buy in my book. a demo doesn't make a game though. but it can break one.

thats exactly what i mean, the demo does not warrant 69.99$ All im saying is that the game is not as sharp, the body to body and players reaction is more cartoonish...

They have a bunch of sliders in the game to tweak everything, like the 2K-games do. I'm not entirely sold on the new passing yet. I'm not used to the aiming yet, so half my breakout passes (mainly the ones going up the middle of the ice) overshoot my players by about 9 feet and go for icing. I really don't like having to charge your pass either, especially on the powerplay. It makes cycling a chore. I wait for a play to develop, and then can't capitalize on it because I have to wait a full second for my pass to charge. Lame. I hope with the full sliders in the game I can play on hardcore mode with no pass assistance, but not have to charge my pass. Boardplay's kinda cool, but I don't like how once you're pinned you can't really get out of it.

With the recent legal troubles involving Patrick Kane, I wonder if EA Sports will pull him from the cover and replace him with someone else? I'd be surprised since it's about a month away from release. But then again EA has pulled Dany Heatley from their cover a few years ago when the accident happend.
