the stick has a good balance. but the stick feels very weight.

and the grip kills the gloves.

I was at the Monkey yesterday and they had some in stock. From what I could tell they were extremely light and very well balanced but like nibbler said....they'll kill your gloves. The texture was extremely rough and made it feel as though you were holding a really light brick. If that's the only grip option they offer, I would pass on the stick if you value your gloves.

im not into grip anyways. im wondering about the durability, doesnt seem lik it would hold up with that weight

me and a teammate have one, so far they have been holding up and no wear on the gloves. i have a s17 before this and a xxxx and i like the cl over them both. the puck feel is great and my shot is great with it to.

Reminds me of polarfibre. I like how even the blade has that texture as well which is probably the closest thing to z-tac that's out in retail at the moment.

A few days ago I cut 5' off the butt end for a customer. We've been beating it with a 5lb hammer for customers to show how strong the darn shaft is. hasn't cracked yet. The new carbon seems to be pretty durable and since the whole stick is made of it, this stick could be very good for durability. Once more people use it and provide feedback, we'll see for sure. It's still fairly new and hasn't been out at retail version long.

can i have the one you've been beating on? :P

shame ccm doesn't have something close to my curve or i'd definitely give it a try, i'll just pick one up when it goes clearance or something

I was told by the head of stick production they wouldn't wear out the palms but I suppose there's a slight chance it depends on what palm you're using as well

It's a little bit more rough than polarfibre, I highly doubt it will really tear up your palms... although palms with a gel-type grip on them may see some additional wear but those tend to wear out rather fast anyway.

I just got a brand new U+CL on last Thursday, had a tournament last weekend and it snapped in half after about 30 min. It probably was a defect but i usually dont break sticks that fast. For the thirty minutes i had it the stick was pretty good though :D Im looking forward to gettting the reurn back to actually play with it, and the grip feels like any other non grip stick with gloves on in my honest opinion.

I got my hands on a couple of tavares CL's through my team and have been testing them out the last couple of weeks. The stick is very light and definately took some adjusting to. That being said, it has has a pretty good feel to it, much better than the old U+. The stick also has great kick to it.

As for the grip, i have not noticed any wear on my gloves.

My only concern with the U+ CL is the durability of the blade. After barely one use, there was severe chipping on the blade's toe. I know a couple of teammates that had the same problem.

I just got my new stick back about two weeks and i was suprizingly very pleased with the new stick, have had no issues with the blade and i guess the one i originally bought was a true manufacturers defect. The shooting with this stick is really fun, it flexes a ton and i can really feel the puck. Best stick ive used since the one 95.

Agreed, the stick has amazing kick. I actually got mine in 100 flex (as opposed to my customary 85) and find it quite whippy as opposed to other conventional 100 flexes i've tried out.

Our team tried out some prototypes at the beginning of the year and they were snapping like twigs. This seems to have been adressed, however, and the new ones we received seem to be holding up great (except for the chipping toes <_< .... )
