ovechkin was using a clear shield last game.

He's been using it for at least a week or so for some reason.

I'm surprised it took this long for him to end up in the skates

He skates pretty well for someone that is 250lbs, but if this new skate is a stiffer skate, it probably would benefit him greatly.

That they are. Those are about as stiff as hockey skates will ever get.

That they are. Those are about as stiff as hockey skates will ever get, if reports are accurate.

Hossa wearing new logo Jofa/RBK/Reebok 7k Pro (probably) elbow pads.

They put the Reebok where it would be visible on the guys who pull their sleeves up. Previously the RBK and Jofa logos were oriented up the pad so you could only see a letter or 3.

What's up with Hossa's Bauer logo there? The white background/black text - is that something that's happening for certain endorsers?

I love that Jagr has the same old gloves he wore on the Rangers (and possibly the Caps?). Can't wait to see him back in NA during the Olympics.

My old boss' shop in MI just received a few pair - I believe he said 9177 (ext cuff) in S and 8k Pro (ext cuff) in M.

Steve at Get an Edge? if so, i think will be making a stop there this weekend.

Watching the World Juniors tonight, I noticed that the Slovakian team has NHL-style visors (Didn't pay enough attention to Latvia), while the US and Canadian teams wear the typical North American junior model made by Itech/Bauer (HECC approved, I think). Team Canada was also wearing neck protection. Any reason these equipment regulations aren't standardized for IIHF play?

If you're under 18, must wear neck protection, no?

yupp in canada you gotta wear a neck gaurd

I thought that was the deal at first, too, but don't players under 18 also have to wear full facial protection?

Here's Nazem Kadri's gettyimages gallery, it looks to me like pictures clearly show a neck guard:

Sorry but I'm kinda confused as to what your saying... we said that they DO have to wear a neck gaurd.
