David Perron U+?

Recommended Posts

I grabbed a CCM U+ Pro stock today that is labeled as a David Perron Pro-stock. I'm just wondering first and foremost of he ever used a CCM U+? Secondly, the blade is extremely thin and has almost a wood feel to it. Just wondering if anyone would know if it is possibly a wood blade fused to the shaft? Any help would be appreciated because I bought this stick as a gift to a friend.

Thanks! And sorry if this is in the wrong place =(

The only sticks I've seen him use are the AK27's and a One95

He also used an 8.O.8 last summer. I had suggested to him to try out the U+. Not sure if he did.

He still reads.

thnx for the replies so far guys. Just want to be able to tell my friend more about the stick when I give it to him if possible. the blade is CRAZY thin....like it's going to snap in half on a slap shot thin lol. I can probably toss up a few pictures for those in terested. Also if this really is his stick it's an 85 Flex and the curve looks fairly straight with a curve towards the toe.

yeah I'd like to see that stick, sounds interesting that one of the lightest sticks on the market would possibly have a fused wood blade.

If I'm not mistaken (I could be) he uses a similar curve to kovalev?

anyway I would like to see that stick.

They are starting to run low on different curves.

I think the stick you saw was Benoit Groulx (lefty, coach of the Gatineau Olympiques), not Claude Giroux. I don't think they got any Giroux sticks in with that batch.

my favourite is the Polak

I got the last polak, holy shit what a toe curve!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know if the polak is a real U+ though? It feels pretty heavy, I think it's actually a standard shaft with blade

The hockey shop in vancouver had them. Was there yesterday and didn't see any left, though you could always give them a call

Yeah, I talked to Chris over there and he said they had absolutely no Giroux in stock, only Groulx.

Claude Giroux's pro pattern is a P10 clone.

My friend took it for a rip last night, said it feels really solid and shoots absolute bullets. took some pics of the stick with my Blackberry so it might not be very clear.

When whoever said the blade was thin, they meant it. That things like a few pieces of paper, holy sh*t

Yah, pretty sure not everyone on here knows where surrey is though, and I'd hate for the guys across the water to get their hopes up and think it was near them.

it offends the people who are actually from vancouver.

and hey, surrey made letterman one night, talking about the 2010 olympics... so it's not totally obscure.
