6', 180 lbs

Forward, Rec League, 3-4 yrs combined ice/roller experience.

When I'm playing routinely, I use 102-105 flex. I'm strong for my size, I guess (benched double my body weight at 140lbs), because I whip the crap out of my sticks on snap shots but I don't like my stick to flex when I'm giving or receiving a pass. When I really get my strength up, I prefer a 110. But if I don't play for a while, I prefer about a 90 because my legs get weak too damn fast and I don't get enough flex in my shot as a result.

you should consider using Intermediate sticks, but I suppose they'd be more whippy than compared to what you're used to

Last Thursday I went to the Bauer Experience because I wanted to try out a Total One in a lower flex. I picked up a 75 flex INT TO and skated around with it a bit and I might replace my current 87 Flexes that are cut down since the 75 INT is the perfect height for me. Loved the whip one the passes and shots.

If they made a 54" stick that was 80 flex, I'd buy it. Don't take too many slapshots from the point unless I'm leading an odd-man rush, but when I do take a cannon shot I dont' like the lag of the INT sticks.

I tend to 'break in' a new stick in my basement for about 2 weeks by shooting the 8oz flypuck into a backstop (tarp) before the stick ever sees the ice.

They make the Total One in a 75 Flex that is 57" long. So essentially with the cut down you are around there.

Not a huge fan of the Bauer curves, but I'll look into it. I just got back into hockey after a 5+ year break and I'm playing C level Beer league. A $200 stick isn't practical at the moment. I JUST got the r6 from the monkey and I'm a huge fan. Even after cutting it's very nice. Thanks for the tip tho, I'll look into the TotalOne.

I feel ya man, personally I love them so maybe that's just why I am inclined to suggest it! Also have you ever checked out their customization on their site? You might find a pattern you like.
