Most Italian Cars arent made for driving 100k+ miles. Thats why you lease them :).

Who are you kidding? The engine is lucky to last 30k.

one weird thing about it is, they use a DC transmition, which has no clutch, but can change gears in .2 seconds.

All of the Ferrari sequential transmissions shift gears that fast (0.16s). Not to mention the SMG (0.08s) and the CVT (0.2s)

No offense, but i think of eclipses in the same regard.

Meh, that's your choice. Simple bolt ons and a small upgraded turbo and a GSX is doing easy 12's @ 118-120 MPH on street radials. Friend of my Cousin's is running mid 11's @ 125 on a stock 7-bolt, street tires, pump gas, no nitrous, stock motor, new cams, intake manifold, turbo, and exhaust.

I don't doubt the performance as they are far better than the likes of neons, escorts, etc. I just look at the eclipse in the whole "ricer" scene and to be honest none of those cars are appealing to me at all, except for maybe the s2000 and R34. I'm sure a hooked up eclipse, etc would dust my A4 like nothing, but ill take german luxury over performance any day of the week. Completely subjective of course.

With my eclipse im trying to keep it away from the ricer look and just trying to make it look nice. I have it lowered a bit and put some nice rims on it. I think it looks nice not "rice"

One time we were out at lunch during school, and we saw this matrix, and it had a lunchtable wing on it. So we ordered our lunch, and went back outside, and ate lunch on the lunchtable, when the girl who came out who owned it asked us what we were doing, we said eating on your lunch table, thanks.

One last comment on this whole Maserati/Ferrari ordeal. Ferrari engines may not last more than 30k and my just be prestigeous because of price, but what company owns and revamped all of Maserati??

My dream dream car: Mclaren F1, when i saw it when it first came out back in the ol' GT days. I pooped my pants.

My attainable dream car: WRX STi all the way baby

Also...how much of Ferrari's technology from the Enzo's engine do you think is in the MC12's?..and do you really think Maserati was able to research and develop, as well as build a car like that all on their own? that whole car is probably just a modded out, slightly watered down enzo with different badging and a nice paint job.

Ummm... Ferrari owns Maserati. The MC12 engine is made by Ferrari. And knowing that, you still would pay twice as much for the Enzo? Sorry, but how does that make sense?

Back in the day, Maserati used to built Ferrari killers. Too bad they didn't have the prestige, otherwise people might actually have a nice Italian sports car that cost a whole lot less.

Please realize that less expensive cars can actually be better than more expesive cars. The badging means practically nothing. Exotics aren't the best cars available, just the most expensive.

And just let me reiterate that the Enzo/MC12 engine is not nearly the same as the 360 engine, which I mentioned earlier. Same thing with the older 355. Except for the Stradale, those cars do not track well (as well as some lambo's).

I know that the MC12 is probably the same quality as the enzo for half the price..what I was getting too was that it seemed that you were bashing Ferrari while all Maserati is now is basically Ferrari. I would personally buy a MC12 over an Enzo anyday...I just didnt' get how you were downtalking Ferrari while talking good about Maserati.

And I do realize less expensive cars can be close or better to cars wayyy more expensive. A perfect example is the new Elise..look at what everyone was testing it against and it's only a 40k car.

I agrtee completely. Just stating that money doesn't nessecerly buy speed and power. Another example is how the Lambo and the Viper are only running 1 or 2 seconds quicker then the WSi and the 'vette.

Vette's traditionally haven't handled well. They're more about name than actual useful performance. 1/4 mile speed and ET really don't mean a lot in daily driving.

I was thinking that was the case, but didn't want to say something that I had no clue about.

And you bring up a great point with what kind of car might be more suitable for average daily driving.

I don't think I've ever had a "dream car". I'd like to get a new set of wheels once the shop takes off. I like the Audi TT roadster, but I could blow $50k on a lot of other toys.

A kid at my school has the 3.2 TT roadster, it drives like a dream but i cant stand the egg look. Id rather have a z4 or boxster s in that range.

Yeah, pretty amazing. I guess its all in what you are looking for in the end.

In most cases those cars can beat or hang with some that cost much more in a straight line, but not on a course.

What money can buy is prestige...Which again doesn't matter for many. This C6 might be 60K? I honestly don't know. But for another 10, I would buy a C4S. I like a car with a nice interior. Its a fast car, but the C6 would take it straight on (From what I remember reading). But on the roads around my area, its quickness, supurb conering and "agility" would make it awesome to drive and definitely a funner car to drive then a corvette. For extra power, give me a turbo any day of the week.

The C6 is about 45k. Raw power is better then turbo power. The engine has to spool all the way up before the turbo kicks in, if anything I would prefer a supercharger. The C4S only has 315 HP, and for the same price, or even less, you can get a C6 z06 vette with 500 hp that would kill the lil 6 banger. The vette does have good handeling, its not the best in the world obviously, but it isnt a civic. Its all about what you want. The vette is a nice car, and so is the C4S, if you live up in the hills with a lot of winding roads, puck up the porsche, if you do a lot of highway driving, pick up the self contained battle ship.
