I was watching the game and as soon as they said it, I scream "There it is". It was bound to happen. All I can hope for is that the Rangers are EXTRA careful. He had a thing in the preseason and the Rangers kept him out the first few games. Hopefully it's nothing.

Truth, ESPN said it may be a game or two and he missed practice yesterday.

From a friend of a friend who interns for the Rangers: It's a slight ankle thing and they're being cautious to not in turn aggravate the groin or hip. Again, don't know how reliable that is, but it's out there.

Furthest thing from being a hater, I'm a fan of Gabby, just not the Rangers. I think he's overpaid, but no one is doubting his hockey skills. Same case with Havlat. High skill set, just problematic.

he's not the only one that hates without knowing, i hate philly, anaheim and ovi (i agree he's an amazing player), i just don't know why, feel the hate pulsing when i watch them play :)

Was at the Isls/Ranger game tonight, and boy i love when these two teams play. Always intense and always a good game regardless of the skill difference. And what a start to the game! 55 seconds and and Molson scores on the breakaway. What a pick up he has been. Everyone was saying he was lucky being Tavares' friend, but he has been the Islanders best player. There must have been 5 or 7 fights in the stands in the final 5 minutes of the game too. One guy left bleeding and bruised, and he was with his son and wife. Who starts a fight with their family there? honestly. If i learned one thing tonight, Islander fans are much tougher than Ranger fans. lmao

Bruce Boudreaus book "Gabby: Confessions of a hockey lifer" is on the shelves now, and here a bit from Avery/Boudreau....

Boudreau coached Avery for the Monarchs, and the experience ended up being a negative one. But that was tame compared with what Boudreau recalled Avery saying during Game 7 in the first round of the last year's playoffs against the New York Rangers.

As far as what he said to Beudreau, thats not insulting during the context of a hockey game, but I couldn't imagine saying that to anyone who coached me at any point.

I missed the game and can't seem to find a video of the hit anywhere. From what I read, most people say it was dirty. This is becoming a huge problem in the NHL. Isn't this the 4th recognizable player to get concussed this year after a "dirty"? hit to the head. It's time for the NHL to step up and protect their players from head shot. Suspending these guys would at least be a nice place to start.
