Reebok Hockey

Recommended Posts

Reebok is doing away with the Koho and Jofa name completely. It will replace it with two names: RBK and Reebok. Reebok will be lower-end equipment and RBK will be high-end equipment. CCM will only have two lines: Tacks and Vector.

Can any one else confirm this? I hear Koho was going to be kept on as low end gear

All right, here's the real deal: Reebok signed a 10 year season apparel agreement with the NHL. Even if the the whole season is scrapped, the deal states they get 10 seasons. CCM will only have two lines: Tacks and Vector. And CCM will be enveiling the Vector130 very shortly. The stick has a 24" taper, and a foam-filled blade. In impact tests next to the si-core and z-carbon blade, the new Vector130 blade withstood more pucks hurled 90mph at it.

And here's an exclusive: Louisville is looking to sell of the TPS hockey line. The company currently showing the most interest is Graf.

how do you know all this stuff???

by the ways ...anybody got some picture of the 130??

and isnt suppose to be the stealth and the xn10 in term of performance be the top??Well maybe the 130 will be like a 395 gram vector lol!

CCM sent out an email on the V130 a couple of weeks ago. I'll see if I can dig it up. They were pushing the fact it was used in the world cup by several players.

Funny, I didn't see any mods posting it on the board. I just did a search, too...

I'm freinds with a buyer, he gave me the scoop on Graf and told me what Reebok will be doing.

I heard that Koho was going to be gone, however, Jofa is staying.

Jofa, according to my source, will be going the way of the dodo. All the protective gear will say RBK or Reebok.

I know a lot of important people and I often deal on a confidential basis with them. That is why I do not divulge everything that I know. I have been dropping hints for months but never mentioned the exact parties involved.

Oh, I see JR. As for old news, my buddy said Grafs interest is real recent... maybe it's just coming to a head. My guess is the G-Force has been in design so long, and still sucks. And at $190.00 USD there is no way they can compete with Easton or TPS in the Ultra high-end one-piece market.

And if you've known for sooo long, and this news is so ancient, maybe you should throw us a bone. It's not like Graf or TPS are publicly help companies and we are going to dump one stock, or buy another. Modsquad is a message board; message boards are the outlet for speculation, rumours and a way for the normal schmoe, or modsqauder  to attain some inside industry information--it is the epitomy of why message boards exist. Who or what is gained or hurt from some industry speculation posted on a benign message board where everyone comes to discuss hockey equipment? Do you really think the President of Graf is going to visit Modsquad.com and demand to find out who leaked this precious information and all the informants are gonna jump out of the woodwork and point to you, JR? And then no one in the industry will ever confide in you again.

Just like we b.s. on the board that's all people in the industry do--except in person or on the phone. And thats how I found out and that's how you found out. And like your freind told you and my freind told me, both freinds told other people, not just us. And so now we have told our freinds on the message board. B)

Yes.

That is EXACTLY why.

Whatever I find out, I will let you guys know when the time is right. And when I do, it is still sooner than most people know.

And if you do not believe me, we had an incident on CoreBeam when someone leaked info about the Vector skate and got into a HEAP of trouble.

So whats the Koho goalie gear going to say? RBK or Reebok?

I was told "all high-end gear will be called RBK and low-end will be called Reebok". So I would guess the goalie gear will be RBK, but I am not certain.

I can't possibly see them getting rid of the Jofa lineup of protective gear, at least not anytime soon. The reputation that preceeds jofa is too valuable to the company. Perhaps a gentle merging, but I think a quick shift away from Jofa would be a serious error.

With the exception of Koho goalie equipment I am not sure how valuable the Koho name is in skates (haven't seen any in a while) or protective so I would assume that this name will be gone or only on low-end stuff.

Further, is the Reebok (or RBK) helmet simply going to be a modified 852/1052 that was used by Iginla and co. at the world cup? Or is it going to be something completly new?

from what the boss said, at the THG meating, KOHO was Rbk, Jofa still had a small part still, and CCM was Rbk, not sure though.

Modo9,

I want to back up JR on this topic. Not many companies like reading unreleased news on message boards. There is no need for members with manufacturers contacts to share the info early. It is very rare that info on the ModSquad is dated. Most of the time it is breaking news and has been confirmed through reliable sources before being posted. Manufacturer contacts know they can trust the moderators with details and that makes the boards better.

Sometimes the news hits the Modsquad so fast that people start to speculate about brand/product direction before the companies have it figured out.

Also, if your TPS info was new, it would be hot and sunny and women would be wearing less clothing... LOL

Everyone just relax and you know be one of 1st to hear about it when its official at the modsquad.

As a matter of fact I was asked to stop posting press releases back on corebeam. I don't recall if it was Itech or CCM.

You get an A in ass-kissing Pmurphy. Well done. And if you really think executives at Graf, Louisville, ect.. really give a shit about what is said on a message board, well then you have a very warped perception of the real world[i/]

Some guy on Corebeam got into a heap of trouble for releasing info prematurely about a skate--unless you work for said manufacturer, legally nothing can be done to you. The only way the higher-ups at any large hockey equipment manufacturer would give a shit about what is on a message board would be if someone is stealing shematics and manufacturing processes and posting them as excel documents. I love how you guys build up these conspiracy theories and try to make yourselves and the precious information you think no one else "supposedly" doesn't have, seem so important and valuable. That's what I love most about this board. I get a huge kick out of that!

A press release is Public Information which can be Posted on any Public forum. And press releases are often positive news used to create buzz for a company about an upcoming product. That makes no sense and whoever told you that is a knucklehead. It's called Freedom of Press and Freedom of Speech. Now if the Press Release were for internal co. use only, that is an entirely different scenario.

Kinda funny that you're saying that to a guy who was the Product Coordinator for Hespeler Hockey...

Modo, I think what you don't understand is that through numerous contacts, I repeat NUMEROUS contacts, we get information about new products from numerous manufacturers. It would be a shame if this sort of connection was lost do to one person going on and on about their singular contact.

At the expo in Toronto everyone knew who JR and I were. People from every major manufacturer visit this site on a regular basis.

As for the press reelease thing, it was done as a courtesy. If we act like jackasses, print everything we hear, get our contacts in trouble and upset people at the manufacturers, we won't be gettting any inside information at all.

As you can see it helps to know the truth before you shove you foot into your mouth.

Please grow up or go away.
