Original Easton Stealth OPS

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a new stick and I noticed Sportchek in Canada has some original stealths and CNT's

The original stealths are 139.99 which I thought was a great price but I noticed the curve on them isnt listed and neither is the flex. Are these legit? and if so are they worth buying?

If they are legit then I personally would be all over the original Stealths. However, the jury was divided on them. Some loved them and some hated them.

They've been selling them for well over a year now. The fact Mike Green is upset over not being able to get his CNT's while Sportchek seemingly has an abundant, never ending source makes me think these aren't the real deal and most likely a paint job. But you never know. I'd go in and check. If it feels good, buy it.

I was also thinking they might be repaited lower models but the original stealth actually feels like it should (super light)

I have had a CNT and the Sportcheck CNT's feel the same, I would say they are legit. Always questions what you buy at Sportcheck though!

Biggest problem I have with them, is when they bring in previous highend sticks, they only bring in 100 flex(in Calgary anyway) and then I would have to cut down.

the cnts i've seen at sportchek didn't feel or LOOK like a cnt (total repaint), the 1g stealths looked legit though. iggy and lidstrom though.

The only thing that puzzles me is the fact that flex and curve arent listed on the stick anywhere

I believe they were on the retail versions. Right on the spot where the pro stock versions have the white nameplate.

sportchek cnts are legit, double concave shaft, 2 cuts on shaft near blade and the way shaft is put in blade

no name/flex are 100 flex with common patterns (iginla, drury, sakic)

I bought every single cnt that my closest sportcheck had in left hand, the ones i picked up are true. The graphics are a tiny bit different then my older ones though, probably just a little change or something. There cnts though no doubt, is easton still making them as a smu for sportcheck? I dont understand how after 3 years sportcheck can have so many .. Mike Green should hit up his local sportcheck.

cant you tell if a cnt is legit by the bubble where the shaft is fused into the blade?

or at least thats what i always thought the bubble was..

Most all Synergys were done that way. Even today you can still see the bulge on the S17s and S19s.

s17's and s19's are stealths.... So wouldnt the SE16 have this so called bubble. Or do all easton OPS have the bubble?

Most all of them have it. Some more apparent than others (some SE16s are bad and you can clearly see a ridge through the silver where they're fused).

Those Stealths and CNTs are the real deal, same sticks that were mass produced from Easton in 2006/2007. They are "assorted", so they are sent from Easton mostly without curve names and most of the time no flex (they're all 100 flex). Mostly Sakic/Iggy curves with some Lidstroms thrown in.

Soon there will be Synergy SE, the model before they put focus weight technology like the SE16.

Someone should give Mike Green a call and tell him to go into Sport Chek to find them.

Could someone tell me what year(s) Easton made the original Stealths (black stick with silver/red graphics, silver hosel/heel)? Thanks!

They were available at least in December of 2004. I believe in Novemeber, actually. I don't remember which month I was in Medicine Hat that year but I picked up two, and it was definitely before 2005. I picked up a few more in Kamloops when I was there for a tournament in 2005. The stick rack was so pretty in that shop that I took a picture.

did Easton ever offer these SR sticks (SL,ST,Stealth, Synergy Elite etc.) in 75 flex? All of these overruns you see at Sportchek or wherever are always 100 flex

Thanks TBLfan :D, very helpful, I suppose I could find some old CNTs or SE's in INT, add a wood plug and cut it a bit...maybe get it to about 63ish flex
