Bauer X60

The new VAPOR X:60 stick is designed with Intelli-Sense Shot Technology that senses shot type and adapts its flex profile to maximize loading and energy transfer on either wrist or slap shots.

I found that under the new Vapor X:60 I was looking to buy and was wondering how that would work?

They also had this graphic up that displayed different flex points that come in to play depending on the type of shot you take

Can anybody who has one give me some feedback, I always use Bauers and want to pick this one up.

Also are they stating that their is Grip Flex? This is something new to me so, I understand flex but how can having flex at the top of the shaft help you?

Thanks

If anyone buys into this hype, get an AK27, aka vapor xv, which was said to flex anywhere, just like wood. New technology, same as the old technology...

Just more marketing and this year's newest BS technology. Those who believe it are the first to buy the sticks. I'm interested in the stick too, but not for any of the reasons they claim this thing is so great.

Newest BS technology? TPS sticks with three flex zones have been out for a couple years. Hell bauer even had two different generations of sticks called the "tri-flex" a few years back. The gold shaft was one of the best standard shafts I've ever used, by the way. I still have one in the closet. It's also one of the things that makes the Oggie grip a performance enhancing product for most people.

So you're saying you believe it all? Does that mean that the Parabolic Focus Flex Zone on the Z-Carbon actually worked, too?

I'm saying it isn't "the newest technology" and that some products featuring the same technology have been quite good. Oh, and I broke one of those z-carbons at the focus flex on a slapper. :P I shoot much more efficiently now though.

Perhaps the technology isn't new, but it's Bauer's newest interpretation of it. Just like old clothes, it seems that the same things come back in new ways. For example, it used to be better for shafts/sticks to be as square as possible to avoid deflection and torque while shooting, yet years later Easton busts out the elliptical hosel S17 and proclaims that the very shape they used to denounce now provides the ultimate in stiffness and prevents blade torque. Low kick sticks came out with the T-Flex, Synergy, and others because they kept the flex "lower and more focused to increase power and accuracy." Yet the One95s hit the market with a higher kick for "more complete and effective loading for heavy shots." Same stuff, different BS names and explanations for it all the time.

BTW, what blade do you use in that R2XN10?

Oh, and another reason that picture up there in the first post is pure marketing:

Look at what they've shaded red as the "flex points". If you ask me, those appear to be the only sections of the shaft that would stay somewhat straight... with the unshaded middle of the shaft being the true flex point!

The inno 100 in the 0 shape, or the hespeler 9010 that I used (same stick), were elliptical for the entire length of the shaft. They were the only Inno shafts I tried that didn't torque on me. The square shafts were more for durability in most cases as the corners were reinforced.

As for the low kick sticks, I think they've become too stiff in the lower portion of the stick for most people. You need to go down even farther in flex with those in order to get they to perform properly on shots and most people aren't comfortable with that. I've heard so many good things about the One95 that I'd like to pick up one of the tapered shafts, but I'd hate to get another stick that's going to be discontinued.

I still have a few of the original R2 blades in the P31 curve, but not many. So, I need to find a matching blade that I like ASAP. TPS sent me some of the newer style blades and I really did not like the feel.

How come you feel that tapered sticks have become too stiff, yet also want to pick one up? I've scoured for those tapered One95 shafts and can't find them anywhere.

OK guys, so ignoring any marketing, what is the difference between a mid kick point and low kick point? Which is most suited to what? And which sticks have which type of kick point?

Do the AK27's have the issue with non-Warrior blades not fitting like the Dolomite's tend to?

I have used Bauer blades with no problems.
