X:60 Stick Complaint

Recommended Posts

So I bought two X:60s a little over a week ago after my last XXXX broke because it took a shot square to the shaft. So I used my first X:60 for four skates and yesterday cracked it on the blade with just a regular slapshot, didn't even put a lot behind it. Then, today I broke my second one after it's FIRST use. Same thing broke it taking a slapshot, but this time broke it about four inches above where the textreme sticker is. So did I just get really unlucky and get two defective sticks or is anyone else having problems with the wear of them? Kinda weird the way they broke in two different spots on the same shot though. And if it matters to anyone it's a 77flex cut down to 92 or 96 can't remember for some reason P88 curve.

EDIT*

I wouldn't say I'm prone to breaking sticks either, I've never had a problem with XXX Lites or XXXXs breaking like this and I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever had to use the warranty on a stick.

I just bought the two piece version and I certainly hope mine doesn't go that easy. However, I did snap my One95 shaft (also a 77 cut down to 92 flex) within 5-6 uses. :(

If this thing breaks, I'm completely done with Bauer.

yeah, I'd hope so for the coin you dropped on that stick.

It hasn't really changed that much over the past year though, has it? X:60 and Canada S19 are 250 at the lhs by my work, which seems pretty consisntent with the price of the xxxx and the s17. Is it high, yes, but it's really only gone up $50 from when the original synergy came out.

Wow, that's pretty rough. When I emailed the hockey shop about a month ago they told me the x:60 would be 269.99, and the s19 would be 279.99. Others aren't selling it for that much so I don't see how they get away with the markup, but it's interesting the price differs so wildly across the board.

I wanted to say something lately but decided against it. The OPS are very expensive than 3-4 years ago. It used to be the most expensive stick ran for $159 maybe. Then it seemed like the best ones ran for $179, then $199. Now I just bought my newest and it was $220 with tax added on.

vapor 25 for 200? holy shit. i would make bank if i opened shop in all these towns lol. we don't sell sticks for more than 5 dollars over MAP lol. honestly don't see how a shop in vancouver can sell the x60 for that much? is it cyclone taylor? they few times i've been up there it seems that they price their product based on the max they can get for it, not what its worth. like, they had x60 skate for 700, (cheap for canada imo), had se16s for 200 (grip, which is below MAP for canada i think), but had a 9500 helmet for 175, when on the net they were still at like 140 at most, some dropped to 99 already. Either way im jealous, their shops kick ass, but prices aren't consistent.

You do realize that Canada falls under a different pricing structure and trans-border shipments aren't allowed, therefore, no need to match internet pricing?

Well, i know that we can't ship up there, but i thought their map was just equal to whatever the exchange rate was at the beginning of the season. doesn't canada have hockeymonkey and crap though?

hockeymonkey Canada sells crap. And I don't know what Cyclone Taylor's pricing is but I checked the hockey shop and Bill's. Prices are expensive. Hockey is an expensive sport.

When the synergys first came out they were 319 and 359 at my lhs, difference? Hour and a half drive, its not uncommon to pay $300+ for a stick really, most of the premium top of the lines cost that, stealths were 299 when they first came out with the cnt, thats why i bought so many .. 159 is pretty much half what anything else is on the market. Got a x60 but broke before i even got to brag about it. Since it was second hand (guy hated it, i didnt mind it), no warranty.

Sports Exchange has quite a few dolos this time around. It looks like the local warrior rep is selling more variety of stock to them as opposed to last season. I believe they're priced at $150? I can't remember exactly...

Anyway, they still have a lot of leftover easton pro-stocks from last season and the hard-to-get-rid-of the prostock 7ks, vapor xx's, and r8 response lites.
